    Lift up canopy and generously squirt silicon sealer where canopy sits on load body then fasten down again. You may also be getting water leaking in from window sills. Just saying.

    OK my 2003,250d has a different water trap. Did you reconnect black wire for black wire and green for red.

    Basically those wires are just to complete the circuit. So by going with your idea, it should be fine.

    Just an idea, take it to a tyre place and get their advice. If you want to keep it as a spare, then get them to glue in a patch over that area for added protection.

    For big spacious jobs, yes but for small confined spaces, the small hand crimper still comes out tops. That IMHO.
