    Re: Rude awaking, Defender Tyres

I remember when I was a lighty cars would be left on bricks, but I really thought this was a thing of the past.

Re: Okavango delta and your vehicle

When we came across that water two years back, there were no signs or indications of a detour at first glance. We stopped and stared at the expanse of water in front of us for a long time, and we...
  3. Re: Advice on buying 2016 Hilux 2.4 GD - 3 x options - different mileage/cost

No, nothing with the motors, it was, as you say squeaks, rattles, parts falling off etc. Just generally very badly put together.

Re: Possible Scam - SA Adventure

Well, my mate owns and operates a (very successful) touring company, and I just two days ago watched an awesome video he posted of him and his guests cruising the delta in mokoros.
  5. Re: New Retro Style Caravans - Is there not a HUGE Market here??

The problem is that the type of person who believes retro is cool is that same person who would not be caught dead in, or even near a campsite. Can you just imagine a 'cool' hipster looking person...
  6. Re: Advice on buying 2016 Hilux 2.4 GD - 3 x options - different mileage/cost

At the risk of opening a can of worms here, a contractor of mine vehemently stands by his theory that the 2016 hiluxes are junk as theyre the first ones of this model, so there were lots of teething...

    Re: Again robbery Ihaha

Interesting to hear about the bird sanctuary. Two years back we wanted to camp at the lookout (as we had in the past) but that’s apparently not allowed anymore and you have to camp in the campsite...
  8. Re: Advice on recently purchased used 2016 Pajero 3.2 LWB GLS

On the clunking auto from park to reverse - my autos only do that if the vehicles have parked on an incline and the handbrake doesnt hold them properly so they sit on the gear, ie, if I put it in...

Re: 100 series questions... life guidance

My mate has a 2004 4.5 105 he’s looking to sell if anyone’s keen. He’s a cruiser fanatic, and has put all the right parts on this one.
This thing gets babied like you can’t beleive, his 200 has to...

Re: Reliable (honest) auto sound shop

Check google and YouTube, you’ll be amazed the ‘how to’ videos etc out there.
Otherwise, I second Craig hall car radio, but, from what I remember, you pay for quality, so be prepared

Sounds buggered, I would just replace with an aftermarket front loader thing than try to fix.

Re: Wheel spacers for CX-5 AWD

  16. RangeRover Re: Disco 4 - Is it worth the headache to look at buying one

    Understandable.
15 and under is more what I would expect so seems right.

That steep road you take - is that the tiny little road that takes you down into the industrial part of pinetown,...
  17. Re: V8 Defenders.....tell us your tales, experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Youll need your head read if you buy a v8 for over R100k I reckon!
  18. RangeRover Re: Disco 4 - Is it worth the headache to look at buying one

That is massive consumption! And this coming from a Patrol owner.
I really wouldn’t have expected such numbers from a (assuming) higher tech motor than an old Patrol.
  19. Re: Robbery at Manyane (Pilanesberg) - 1 robber killed

Not really. I would assume its cos us RSA citizens dont have hundreds of thousands of US Dollars to spend on a hunt.

And actually, if there are RSA citizens with that kind of money, and the real...

    Re: Is this it?

Could it not be that manufacturers do this with all new cars, but because this is the Defender, all the testing etc is making it into the headlines? It is amazing all the testing etc thats going on,...
  24. Re: Robbery at Manyane (Pilanesberg) - 1 robber killed

Is there really hunting happening in Pilanesburg? I find this a little odd? They must have very small, restricted areas that theyre using for this then surely so as not to be anywhere near a...
  25. Series I Re: @-5 temp, engine starts, then dies after a few seconds

    Re: Nissan Patrol info

It all comes down to consumption though. If you can stomach 18 to 20 l/100, then there really is nothing else to worry about. Honestly.

You'll find a nice 4.8 auto, or, at least, between the guys...
