    Re: Rookie: fleetline 1

I did a couple of gravel roads with my previous road van... it's only 6km, so just take it real slow and you'll be fine

Just had my gearbox serviced... took about 3 hours, and (subjectively) feels smoother... money well spent

    Re: Amarok true Fuel consumption

I've got 255/60R18's (exact same rolling circumference) and I get between 8 and 11 depending on where I drive and how fast... so I reckon you're on par

Re: So much Dust in my RSI Canopy :(

I haven't had that issue, but then, I have a roof rack fitted... must create enough turbulence to stop the buildup

Re: Companion - Tips, tricks and mods

I've got one of those "bubble" levels... that lives in the grocery cupboard...
When levelling, I just pop it on the front locker... easy to see, and seems to level everything up nicely.

Re: Seikel Desert vs Koni Raid Kit?

    following....

BUT, my thoughts would be, that unless you're going to put a bit more in the back, the Desert would be the better option... (completely ignorant comment)
  11. Re: Amarok On GY Wrangler Adventure - Ride Quality concerns

    Glad you're sorted...

Seems tyre places (almost without fail) over inflate the tyres...
  12. Re: Amarok On GY Wrangler Adventure - Ride Quality concerns

Are they not perhaps a little hard?
Your "symptoms" are similar to what I had when I "over" inflated my tyres on my previous bakkie

What's a minor service? Oil change?

Paid R2300 yesterday for an oil change for the Amarok. :o

    Re: Tyre + rim advice

My Amarok has 255/60R18's on it, but I plan on sizing up to 265/60R18
I don't think you'll have any issues... if anything, "I think" your speedo is probably reading pretty close to true GPS speed

Sjoe, for a bit more, I had the BunduAwn installed, with poles and sides all the way around....
And I saved myself about 15kg's

    Re: Amarok reverse cam

My understanding is that it depends which 510 you got... (apparently there are 2 or 3) and then whether the one you have, can accept.

And, IIRC, you have to remove the radio to see whether it can...

Re: Companion - Tips, tricks and mods

    Was brilliant...
Small issue with one of the tensioning straps pulling loose, but BunduTec took it back, repaired it and shipped it down... No issues at all.

Very happy with the end result

    Re: Highest mileage tyres

Move to the Wrangler Adventures... Supposed to give "up to 30% better mileage" over the AT/SA

Otherwise look at Hankook or Michelin...

    I've got the alu one...

just to note, even with the vent, if you don't seal the tailgate, you'll still get dust in the back

Re: Companion - Tips, tricks and mods

I'll try to remember to measure when I get home, but for reference, we've got a 20l microwave sitting on the foam at the bottom, and it's got about 40mm clearance... depth is perfect.
  33. Re: Nice safe camping spot no further than an hour out of CPT this weekend.

I reckon only site 9 would be an issue... since there's road "access" which is how the shoppers got to my van... All the other sites need proper trekking through the campsite...

    Like I said...
  34. Re: Nice safe camping spot no further than an hour out of CPT this weekend.

A couple of "outsiders" came into the site and helped themselves to some of my stuff...

That said... we left everything "open"... so we were an easy target... BUT they did stick their hands inside...
  35. Re: Nice safe camping spot no further than an hour out of CPT this weekend.

    + 1 million on Dwarsberg

we had an incident on site 9 in September, but only the 2nd ever... Will go back in a heartbeat... it's just awesome!
