Re: WJ 2.7 CRD vs 4.7 Overland

You don't make mention of mileage?

My 2.7 was a fantastic vehicle however I bought it with very few KMs on it.

    Make sure of the following:
1.) Unclip the plastic engine cover of the diesel...

Re: New Maxxis Razr AT 811 tyres - promising

    I fitted these tyres yesterday.

1.) the brilliant reviews in Auz

    3.) previous experience with Maxxis...

  10. Suspension Re: Toyota Fortuner suspension upgrade - Bilstein,OME,Fox

A very comprehensive shock comparison done by the Auzzies, admittedly does not include all major brands, but makes for interesting reading to some. 592128

After months of research, I did a full Tough Dog upgrade on the Hilux and having an easy 9 stage adjustment on the shocks to accommodate load variances, has completely transformed the ride over...

Re: Old Postal Route - Biedouw Valley

Did you have to turnaround and drive back to Enjo? There are three rivers, the Tra Tra, Matjiesriver and the Doring. Enjo to Doring on the Mertenhof farm is about 5hrs taking in the sights.

Re: Old Postal Route - Biedouw Valley

I would be be surprised if the Doring is low enough to cross with all the recent rain and snow melt. One option is to start on the Tankwa side early, and one can view if the river is passable, if not...

Re: Cederberg or Tankwa in February?

Why not both? Beautififul trip if you folllow the Postal Route from Tankwa to Biedouw, then you can still do the Eselbank from Wupperthal to Oasis? The Doring, Tra-Tra and Matjiesfontein rivers will...

Re: New member with a problem!

The angle on the front prop is too acute and worse if you have a lift of 2" or more. Best way round this common problem on the WJ is to fit a double cardan prop.

I approached the Doring from the east side on the 20/9/18 and yes there was a bekslaan gate. No issues reaching the river other than the river flowing too strong to cross.
