Re: Victron only - Hilux Aux Batt setup change

    Hi Bergbok1,

I had great service from Byron at SunSol-E, contact number 076 458 3576. I paid R9,200 and IIRC it comes with a 3 year warrantee. It is second generation, however Byron explained all...

  3. Re: The 2021 Official 4x4 Community Klein Pella Exploration Trip (Northern Cape)

My bookings are confirmed and will be at Riemvasmaak as per the original plan.

Cannot wait, it's going to be epic.

Also, for those with kids in school like me, the new school holiday calendar...
  4. Re: The 2021 Official 4x4 Community Klein Pella Exploration Trip (Northern Cape)

Thanks Jors. I saw your video and immediately the idea entered my mind. It is by no means a deviation from Andrew’s trip planning :)

That to me would be a highlight, and personally would rather...
  5. Re: The 2021 Official 4x4 Community Klein Pella Exploration Trip (Northern Cape)

Hi Jors, is any of this area covered in your video possible during this trip? I don't know your area, thus don't know if logistically it can be done. Looks like mega fun and an ideal opportunity to...
  6. Re: FJ Cruiser - Interesting Facts (Useless Information)

The big RPM drop from 4th to 5th is the issue. At 120 in 5th it is at 2000 RPM whilst in 4th 2900, the 900 RPM really requires an additional gear with the 5th becoming the 6th.

    Was again the...
  7. Re: FJ Cruiser - Interesting Facts (Useless Information)

The Powerplus has so many options and is simple to use, cannot see how the more expensive IDrive can improve on the Powerplus?

I towed our hefty Ratel the weekend with the Powerplus left on A2.9,...

    Re: Why we fish

I’m not sure if I hate reading this thread or should embrace it to get back into fishing, an activity I truly loved as a youngster. For the last few years I now and then get the urge to go fishing,...

Re: New camp sites at SANPark's Kgalagadi?

I truly hope the park won't become a second overcrowded KNP, that will be sad. Kgalagadi is my favorite by far.
  10. Hilux Mako -a thing of beauty, I like it a lot!

Why only in NZ and only 250 :'(:'(. Sadly we won't see it in SA, but imagine buying this model off the showroom floor with full Toy warrantee, it'll work for me. At a price of course :D

    The OME...

    Re: Difflock vs Traction control

Came across this video...... With undulating areas requiring the vehicle to flex a lot and causing wheels in the air, front and rear difflocks cannot be beaten in my opinion. The presenter did state...

Re: Why are Bush Lapa's so popular?

There were 5 BL's the weekend at Almega, 3 very close to us and we had lots of chats after they went on a game view Saturday afternoon late and a sudden storm hit us. We quickly rushed to move their...

Re: Lost in Kruger YouTube Series

Really enjoyed the series, tanks Tim.

The issues with the RAID hopefully has taught you a few lessons to be avoided at all cost :)

Your leopard sightings were just insane, but I suppose the...

Re: 4Wd-27/7 Ute of the year!

A great watch, the scoring criteria will always be a variable to peoples needs. Overall I think very well done.

The challenge they had is that the competition is really tuff, none of these...
  17. Re: Interesting video about roof racks - Ronny Dahl

Therein lies a massive risk, they guys screaming along at 120k's/h in the dunes with RTT etc on the RR to concur that huge climb. Imagine the forces applied to the mounting points then. Or an...

Re: So who is going camping this weekend?

Spur of the moment decision this morning, Almega it will be for needed R&R. They are very popular indeed, took the last stand and had to wait for a cancellation.
  20. Re: Interesting video about roof racks - Ronny Dahl

Very important factor in any vehicle build and setup choices, but guess most ignore this, or are oblivious to the actual weight on their roof. I for one has never weighed all the stuff on the RR to...
  21. Re: FJ Cruiser - Interesting Facts (Useless Information)

It makes a big difference in the throttle response Jors, which results in a very lively response on max setting to seriously old-toppie response on Eco mode, but this will be great for doing very...
  22. Re: Will T4A SD Card work in Toyota Infotainment setup?

Thank you Trevor for the feedback. It is a pity.
  23. Re: FJ Cruiser - Interesting Facts (Useless Information)

My goodness I did not imagine the difference the throttle controller can make.

Thanks Edd, pleasure is all mine ;D

Will play around with the various setting for different applications, but boy...
  24. Re: FJ Cruiser - Interesting Facts (Useless Information)

Jors you should get up to 10Km/L on your standard FJ on the open road keeping below 120, a light foot approach and no hectic wind or hilly country.
  25. Re: FJ Cruiser - Interesting Facts (Useless Information)

Something else I discovered this morning....

We bought our FJ fully kitted including OME suspension. The FJ is low in the front by 50mm, thus wrongly specced setup up front to cater for the...

Re: Good ave speed for Mountainbike?

    Great Christa

I should be on the bike more often, but recently focused more on the weights and last Saturday was the first time that I felt really strong till the end during our 30Km stint....
  29. Re: What are the must watch African YouTube Overland Chanels

  31. Will T4A SD Card work in Toyota Infotainment setup?

The below pic show where the SD card slots into the infotainment system, bottom right corner. Question can T4A be successfully run on this system? It will save me from having to buy a GPS with T4A...

Re: My LC 79 v8 Journey

Wow, that is enormous power. I can imagine from 2000 RPM it is a real beast.

Your tyres will suddenly only last half as long as the ave ;D
  35. Re: The 2021 Official 4x4 Community Klein Pella Exploration Trip (Northern Cape)

Clarissa just confirmed my camping spot for the 1st April, already excited ;D.

The closest I've been to this area was when we toured Kgalagadi and took the Hotazel and Van Zylsrus horrible gravel...
