Re: Why would Amarok Injectors overfuel?

German car manufacturers' engines can run run full throttle continuously, unless it's being run over the limiter.

Maybe running high rpm while the engine is still cold?
  2. Re: My new to me LC150 4.0V6 VX - so many questions!

    As to your point 3)

Might be worth while having the gearbox oil changed. It helped in my case.

Re: Jurgens XT 140 vs Venter Offroader

Yes, I did. Problem is that the 2nd hand market in Namibia is very small. Choice is very limited and prices are high.
An almost antique Echo 3 is being advertised for 85k, without tent. That's an...

Re: Jurgens XT 140 vs Venter Offroader

Yes, that would be part of my shopping list.

I'm just wondering whether that cover and the shape of the cone would be enough to prevent stones being kicked back up against the tow vehicle's rear...

Jurgens XT 140 vs Venter Offroader

By chance I saw a new XT 140 on display and must say, that I kind of like it. 2 months ago I had a look at the Venter Offroader and liked it, too.

To me it comes down to the following: both...

Re: Bush Lapa : experience HIS beauty @

May I ask here. please: the beds in the various BL caravans, how long are they? From what I have seen on the website so far it seems like they are around 1.8 m across the range?

Re: Accessories worth it, or a money pit

Adding accessories to your vehicle isn't an investment. It's an expense.

Whether that expense makes sense or not, depends on the vehicle and your intended use of it.
    Or the expense might make...

Re: Ford Ranger Stability Control issues

If the steering is bent and the two front wheels point into different directions, it could be enough to trigger ESP when going around a corner.
ESP would activate if the vehicle doesn't travel into...

Re: Toyota Fortuner All Terrain tyres

Depending on the mileage you are doing, I would recommend either the Michelin LTX AT2 or the Firestone Destination AT for your intended use. I don't know whether either tyre is available in the size...

Re: D4 XS Fuel tank size

Manufacturers do that on purpose. Rather err on the safe side and still have fuel in the tank when range shows zero, than the other way around.

Re: Ford Ranger Stability Control issues

If one of the steering control arms is bent, the ESP might get confused. It would have a sensor in the steering in order to figure out which way you intend to go, if the steering is out because it's...

Re: Advice please for newbie 4x4er

How about a Prado 90? Comes in under budget, you can then rather set aside some money to feed the V6. It won't be that thirsty and well maintained ones should give you no trouble at all.
    Very nice...

Re: Garmin DriveSmart 61 LMT-S any good?

Thanks, good to know. I read a couple of reviews on an overseas Amazon page. Seems like the 61 LMT-S (and the 51 LMT-S) aren't that great at finding the correct routing. A lot of people complain...

    Re: Conti Crosscontact LX

The M+S you see on the tires only refers to the tread pattern. Most A/T and even some H/T tires would carry that sign.

It however doesn't say anything about the tire compound's cold weather...

    Re: Is this it?

The way I read it they are talking about the 2 test mules they took photos of. That specific 90 had coil springs, while that specific 110 had air suspension.

    Michelin LTX Force vs A/T2

Has anyone tried the LTX Force yet? How do they compare to the A/T2?
It seems like they are a bit cheaper and I have been told the A/T2 is being phased out?

  29. Re: toyots vs amarok on-paper/actual performance
