The only "must" I would add is you MUST buy it!!;D I've got the 2.4 manual 2018 also with Stofpad lift and plates. With these extras fitted, I feel confident to take this vehicle into real off road...

Hi Boyza
I stayed in Tierkloof camp last November and took a scenic drive which involved most of the route to Oukraal. The route starts off with a very steep but concreted track up to the plateau....
I don't think they would consider any time "high season". It's not a particularly busy park but I think most visitors would avoid mid summer and mid winter when the temperatures would be extreme.
Yes, you've got a good point there Malcolm. It is a bit tedious driving the 16 Kms (?) every time you want to check out the rest of the park.
Thanks Kortgat, never heard of the stuff but I'll definitely give that a try!
With apologies to Darren again, I'd just like to pose another two questions following my post number 52 on this thread.
I bought a UV clarifier and a 6000ltr per hour pump. I was hoping that the...
Sorry to piggyback on this thread, but can someone advise me how to get rid of this beeping on a 2018 Grand Vitara? I remember there was a thread about this some time back but I'm damned if I can...
Thanks Tony. I can understand Capenature's policy but I think they will have to interfere with this one. For whatever reason, exceptional winds maybe, that massive dune on the left of the river has...
If you want to camp, I suggest Langkloof over Perdekloof. Book both sites at Langkloof for total privacy. If you want to wild camp, go to Skaapwagterspos.
For self catering, Elandsberg are nice and...
Hi All
Can anyone tell me if the lagoon at this reserve has been opened to the sea yet? I was last there about 4 months ago and the water level was threatening the infrastructure of the reserve but...
Zulucowboy
That southern coast is really worth a visit, so don't be put off the area based on my review of the park;D. There are loads of accommodation venues in the area...in these desperate times...
Hi
I stayed at ANP a couple of months back, my first stay in this park.
As you've probably seen on SANParks website, you have the option of seaside or inland accommodation. However, you want to be...
Hi Tony
I'd never heard of Kameeldoring until reading your post. Having gone onto their website, it looks really jacked - in fact, if I go that direction again sometime I will give Augrabies...
It's got a towbar:-\. I wonder what it's been towing?
Grantt, thanks for this very helpful update! I've been to this reserve a few times but had no idea of the improvements! This is great news....Grootvaders is a lovely camping venue for us folk living...
Question 1 : Upington to those sites mentioned is going to be a helluva slog. If you don't want to stop at Skilpad ( understandable) why not stop at one of the further North campsites so that you...
Olyfboer, I also bought my dome from Cristys about 25 years ago and it's still going strong. I recently got them to custom make a small veranda to fit my 2.5x 2.5m. The main reason for this is that...
MellisaReed, I have basically the same set-up as you except that my battery is only a 96 ah. My car puts out 13.8 v at the NL regulator and I don't have any issues. So I can't believe the dc to dc is...
This incident reminds one of the well known case of the lion poking his nose into the occupant's tent at Rooiputs a few years ago. From what I understood of that occasion, the camper avoided a...
From a fellow Capetonian, welcome Adam! You'll find lot's of exploring suggestions on this forum - in fact there're so many options you won't even know where to begin!!
Thanks Darren. You're right, my pond does get a lot of sunlight and I'm trying to cover the surface with lilies etc. as fast as possible. But the lilies just aren't growing fast enough! I guess I'll...
Thanks All. So if I understand correctly, I have no option but for an "out of pond" set up if I want UV, pump and filter?
With apologies to Rymerdr, can I pose a question here during this break from the OP.
I have a 4000 lt pond with goldfish. The water is circulated with a cheapie pump. I'm having a helluva problem...
If I'm forced to camp at Twee Rivieren, I book one of the non electrified sites as I feel you have a better chance of getter a bit of shade here than the electrified area. What p*sses me off though,...
Hunter, I don't think there would be any claims in this area. Medolino is surrounded by residential suburbia, it's not outside Port Alfred. It appears to be a family owned business, now run by the...
I think they must have. These two trails have have quite steep inclines which have to be taken cautiously. You either need low range or an automatic with heaps of torque like the Prado 4l that...
I don't want to quote figures;D, but have a look under commercial property in Port Alfred on Property 24. Having just seen the assets included, I cannot understand why this place has not been sold...
Hi again Guys
I've just got back......decided on Medolino and was not disappointed. It was beautifully kept, rolling lawns and spotless, working communal facilities.
But my main reason for...
Hi Imreg
I've just got back from a few days in MZ. I drove the Juriesdam and the longer 4x4 trail in my Grand Vitara ( lifted with bash plates) and whilst these routes didn't pose any problems, I...
Thanks Pete and Jack. So it seems this was designed as a fridge space. Suits me fine!
Regards.
Hi Folks
I've had my Dometic for a while but haven't really put it to much use yet. My question is :- The smaller compartment.....is this simply designed like this because the workings of the...
Hi Pat
I think you need to place this post in the Western Cape Thread. I would also like to hear feedback from those that may have been there....it certainly looks inviting on the SANParks website.
Since my original post these birds have become quite regular sightings "down south" now. I see them often in the Kommetjie vicinity.

That's correct Hilux01. Isimangaliso is independent of Ezemvelo. Hence they do not accept Wild Cards.
I agree with this. IMO, decent ground clearance is the most important. I can also only comment on the first half but I can't think of any part of the trail where it was necessary to drop tyre...
