    Re: Bottle Hydraulic Jacks

    This is good advice.
I do something very similar with a 10 ton bottle jack that I bought so far back that I don't even know anymore how much I paid for it, but would not have been over the top....

I have kept rainfall figure in my garden in Pinetown for many years now.
Presently our rainfall is within the normal range but much higher than average for this time of year in the last few years....

Re: KB 280 gearbox oil change

Best to find a hoist or a pit to use to do this.

When we were travelling in Zambia and needed similar for the 4x4 D/Cab we found a tyre shop who did it for us for a nominal charge. We supplied the...
  6. Re: Looking to buy older 4x4 vehicle. Need advice.

    AND to add:
4x4 Insurance cost will most likely be higher, especially if you are planning off-road stuff with it.
    Just saying.

    Re: Richtersberg Campsite under water

That kind of rainstorm is not usually predicted and is unexpected at that time of year.
In such a situation I could very easily have been caught out myself.

    Re: Richtersberg Campsite under water

This is a "normal" Richtersveld official campsite alongside the river bed, not in it as such.
Near to the also popular De Hoop camping area.
I wonder how the campers there fared?
    Very scary.
    But...

    Re: Freelander Cracked Dash

I must admit that generally speaking (not specific to this vehicle) I thought that these cracking issues had been sorted many moons ago.

    Re: Amatikulu campsite

I wonder if this would be a safe venue for a wild camp ?
Mmmm, probably not - just a thought.
The view of the river moth from the platform (if it is still there) was great.
Yes I know the river is...

  14. Re: To change rims or not, what is your experience like?

Given the low off-road use I would say just live with it and invest the R 35 K for future issues.

I seriously need to replace the 16" mags on my old Suuz due to them no longer being round (past...

  30. Re: beaches a no no in garden route...what else to do?

    Climb the George Peak.
Did it twice in my very much younger days!
