    Do not know much of the first Sportage, but other than possible fuel consumption I do not think you can go wrong with a Frontier.

    Probably not close enough to you, but you should give Zone Offroad a try, they don't only build monster Jeeps but handle the usual servicing too if I remember right.

    Tyres makes a huge difference, bigger tyres means higher rolling resistance for example.

    The above is similar to what I had on my D3, I had 4 spots on the stock bumper without drilling into the bumper and no nudge bar.

    Maybe Peter can confirm, but if I remember right the D3/D4's nanny system will lower the suspension to access mode for many other errors, so at a glance your immediate thought might be a suspension...

    Just to correct my own post, I did not issues with the bar but rather with the bolt coming loose. I had to retorque it probably twice a month, but then I changed suspension and all problems went away.

    Go chat to George at LA Sport in Walmer.
    When I had my 3.8 it is almost always trackbar related, but also make sure of wheel alignment, and steering wheel alignment.
