Re: What Allrounder Business Bakkie to Buy??

I have a 2018 NP200 in the fleet out of necessity.

It truly is a horrible little thing. I'd hate to drive it daily. Ride is iffy, the interior is only barely acceptable. We have the petrol and it...

Re: Second Hand Double Cab Bakkie

The Auto Boxes on those Ford/Mazda 3.0TDCI engines all require a rather expensive rebuild at some stage it seems.

I friend had theirs done, and apparenty once done, it's fine for a long time.

Freelander II Re: Freelander 2 - Buying advice

My dad bought a 2007 TD4 SE in 2012 with 120k km on the clock. Now has just under 200k km and except for yearly services he has replaced one turbo pipe. That's it.

His example is the epitome of...

Re: Advice: Looking to buy a Suzuki SX4

Seeing that it cost ~R250k new in 2014, I think R159k is waay too much.

Re: Advice: Looking to buy a Suzuki SX4

The wife and I very nearly bought an SX4 of similar vintage before we had kids.

We absolutely loved the car, the 2.0 engine with manual gearbox is willing, cruises nicely.

    The only thing that...

    Re: Buying advice Audi A6 3.0Tdi 2013

Nope. That vintage A6 3.0 TDI non-quattro had Multitronic. Quattro had either Tip or S-tronic. Can't be bothered to Google now.

That said, wife's uncle ran a 2013 model with the multitronic...

Not nice at all, and it seems your problems are in no way "minor" things that can be adjusted and sorted.

Re: Marius's Touareg R5 life thread.

    Re: Honda CVR 2.2 Diesel

I have to agree, both my CRV's were great on gravel.

Biggest problem was ground clearance, which I felt was worse on my diesel than...

    Re: Honda CVR 2.2 Diesel

I had a 2.2 i-DTEC which is the later version of the same engine. With the Auto Box.

It was no firecracker but it did decent cruising and returned ~ 7.5l/100km on the open road.

    The Throttle...

As you say, the 280S would be a W116, whilst the 230E would be a W123.

I owned both a W116 and a W123 at the same time, and the W116, though much more neglected and abused was a much nicer ride /...

Have you tried to reset the BCM?

I have had this with a Ranger after a repair. Brights worked, but no dimms, or the other way around, I can't remember. Reset the BCM and it was working fine.

Really do like the CX5, and that red is just stunning.

Paid R2300 for 18" Yoko Geolandars on the Volvo. So still in the ballpark.

My dad's Freelander 2 TD4 had similar issues. After mucking about quite a lot, it turned out to be a clogged air filter. New filter, car pulled like a train again.
