    Re: Buying a 3000DE

This is all true for the 5L, amazing vehicles they are.

Never spent a cent on mine besides normal servicing.
Just know that they are no race horse and struggle a bit at altitude, but will go for...

    Re: D4D Injector problems ??

I will also like to know where this is documented.
There is 1000's of them, excl taxis, on the road and the D4D was/is a very good motor, I don't believe this statement.

You only do short town trips during the week, most of the times?

I would much rather just give it a good burn on the hi-way every so often to get it up to working temperatures where the PDF can...

I see you are from Ballito, give me a shout should you need any help with fitting any of the electrics, I quit enjoy stuff like that.
  14. Re: Fitting Brad Harrison plug to 2018 and 2019 Fortuner 2.8 Diesel 4x4

I fitted a DC-DC in the Lapa, works great.
So you keep your existing cabling, but the vehicle no feeds the DC-DC which in turn charges the two batteries in the Lapa, instead of the cable running...

Re: Cruiser 76/79 V8 owners take note

If I had to guess, and that is what it is, a guess, I would say after 50k km you will have some build up?

Certainly wont be clean if there is no catch can or egr blanking.

That would be very interesting indeed Peter.

Please let us know when you open it up and what it looked like.

Re: Cruiser 76/79 V8 owners take note

No, it will not clean itself, and it is quite a job to clean it out properly.

By fitting a catch can/blanking EGR valve you just stop the build up from getting worse.

    Ja, dit is reg, dankie

Re: Cruiser 76/79 V8 owners take note

They do yes, but by fitting a catch can you are removing the "oil" out of the intake and allowing just the exhaust gasses.
So no hot gasses mixing with the oil vapors in the intake.... if I am...

    To add to this thread.

Is a catch can a good idea or not?

    Re: D4D Injector problems ??

Indeed, one of the first things I learnt, be VERY careful of what you put into your tank to "clean" your injectors.
I will not use any sort of injector cleaner ever, I believe that it can also...

    Yes, you can service them.

Injectors work hard, look at servicing them if they are getting out of spec, this you can have checked at your local dealer when servicing your vehicle and connecting it...
