Defender Re: Defender pulling left when braking

My D1 did that when the ABS pump packed up. I just removed and bypassed it. Huge improvement in overall braking.

Re: What do I need? Solar

The size of your pool pump will be the driver here, the other loads are insignificant compared to it. And then you need to decide what other random loads you want to plug into the wall plugs like a...

Re: Independent trailer suspension DIY question

I'm not taking any sides here but a coil spring has no damping and will return the stored energy, therefore it needs a shock absorber to stop the wheel from bouncing. A leaf spring has internal...
  4. Defender Re: Don't know if mechanics are being honest here

From painful experience I can tell you there is not a lot of people that know what they do on a Tdi300 engine, as simple as it may seem. It is a finicky engine and if you do something wrong it will...

Re: Top 5 4x4 upgrades to begin with

If you want to tour and not nevcedary want to do Grade 5 playgrounds I would look at tyres, then split charge system for fridges, and you will be able to do most trips.

You can then add extra fuel...

    Re: Is this it?

Agree, the pic that shows the bottom of the arm shows it to be a casting, what I thought to be a weld could be the split line of the die.

    Re: Goodyear duratrack tyres

If you do a lot of gravel it's a good tyre. A bit noisy for my liking, but puncture resistant and decent grip all round. On my D4 they tend to chip a bit, pretty much like the old BF AT's did on my...

Discovery 4 Re: What is it with tappet covers?

My Alfa V6 had those, impellor cracked and lost purchase on shaft, replaced with metal one from 3L model. In hindsight it should have been changed at cambelt service when it was all open down there.

On the D4 you can get a list of all error codes displayed on the centre screen, there is a hack that allows you in there.
