  1. Re: Towball mounted racks - the good, the bad, the ugly. Please help me make the righ

Exactly this. N-1 is correct. I battle with 2 bikes on a so called Thule 3 bike rack, if I do more than up the road to Ballito I loosen the handlebars and turn them through 90⁰ to make sure brake...

Re: Third bridge repaired or not

The Xakanaxa turn is about 1/2 way between South and North gate. We didn't do Xakanaxa when we were there because there was some doubt as to whether it was open or not, due to the leopard incidents....

Same marketing company that came up with the Poer. Perhaps they'll realise their error and call this one the 8-Series. Models like GR8, SP8, Gener8.

I'll send them my invoice ...

Ahh, ok. R200K opens the options up massively, especially since the support network has yet to be announced (maybe?) And certainly not tested in anger.

Re: Third bridge repaired or not

This is what Third Bridge looked like a year ago, for comparison. The edit is because a friend was standing on the one bollard and wouldn't want her image here.

Re: Third bridge repaired or not

Xakanaxa is fine from North and South Gates but Third Bridge is going to take a long long time to come back. This pic from Mid June.

Apologies for the orientation, don't know how to fix that

Won't be an issue. Phone them before deciding, but that area not affected and I'm not sure steel supply is going to be an issue.
  14. Re: Help needed for getting the wife to King Shaka Airport

I've put a call out to old schoolmates in PMB to see if they know of a way to assist. Good luck, tough time to be looking for help travelling.

Let us know how it goes. I'm OK with the community running the show, but kicking Lundy out at such short notice seems wrong.

  21. Re: eMshophi Campsite (uMkhuze Game Reserve) - Progress

  22. Re: eMshophi Campsite (uMkhuze Game Reserve) - Progress

You mean the road leading to the reserve through the rural settlements. You're right they aren't great, but I have seen worse. But I do have an offroad van so probably don't feel the worst of it.

Re: Delta From Main or reverse

Remember that 3rd Bridge is impassible, will be for a long time, so Xakanaxa to 3rd Bridge camp is via South Gate. It's about 85km (4 hours) Vs a short hop.
