    Answered this myself - had a look at a new Navara this morning and the chassis is indeed strengthened with an extra welded gusset in the weak spot(just like the previous ones built in the UK)

    I think you are both misunderstanding my point, in Fords defence, the forum has a lot of bad publicity here (especially pertaining to Rangers) so IMO a poll here will not reflect the general buying...

    Thanks, I used 'appreciating asset' a bit flippantly but was just referring to the fact that I made R50k in three years when I sold recently, our cpi/inflation/rand value negates this in real terms...

    As mentioned, all the fuel pump failures on the list were attributed to the long range tank

    Propshaft issue was more of a thump, like a bowling ball hitting as you pulled off.....something to do with the incorrect splines.
    Difficult one but sounds like a bearing of sorts??
