    If it's an older tent I would first wash the zip with warm soap water and a brush, rinse and let it dry. Then apply a little silicone spray for lubrication.

    I bought four of them and they are good quality.

    Not sure if they are food grade but they were designed for water so they should be.

    I think that you are now using the charger as a power supply ;D (Float/maintenance charge)

    Leave everything in place and then just switch off the mains power for 12 hours or until the battery...
