    I agree Mr G , not happy that the first quote was not the best they could do .

    As I explained to the service manager I don't mind paying a slight premium , but hell 30 % was a bit much.

    Initial quote from local dealer was R3500.00 but reduced to R2700.00 after I explained I can get it done in Umhlanga for R2600.00

    Nope does not do it at home .

    There was 6 Xplorers and all but one of us had the issue. He used a spike and strap . Me i just disconnected 220 and ran on 12V , but that is not the ultimate...

    I bought 6 of the ceiling fans in the first post and we are currently in Ponta and they work like a dream in the Xplorer . I have two running full time and the temp in the caravan is perfect .

    I have towed my Xplorer with my Hilux fitted with airbags many KM's on very bad road and never had issues with chassis damage.

    Bit of common sense will prevent any damage.
