Eish, i'm not sure what buzz you are on. ::)

You kinda keep pushing facts I/we all know in my face. No dispute there.

Stick to the stuff advised on this thread and you will be hard pressed to go wrong.

    1/. He's got a decent inverter.

2/. A generally available smart charger from Midas, Benton, Ctek, Ardendorf,...

    OK -

Get a battery - Car battery, deep cycle battery, any battery, 80AH or preferably bigger.

Get a Smart Charger - 7Amp, 8Amp, 20Amp, whatever. Cheapest like Midas or Adendorf or whatever. ...

Probably the best description I have seen.

Hi Kari, this is in fact incorrect.

The Multiplus II cannot operate in Grid Tied mode. ( Grid Connected yes, but that and Grid Tied are VERY different beasts)

    Your suggested solution will...

Irrevocably YES - I would not take the chance. Although in your case I suspect you will catch it before it does too much damage.

    Erm, yes and no.

A 25A charger will only charge at 25 A for a very short part of the time.

You can charge a 100AH battery at 50 A with no bad side effects. Your car does it all of the time. But...

Re: Cycles for a starting batterye.

You can discharge it just as easily and safely, all the way down to dead, as a Deep Cycle or AGM or Solar, or even Lithium for that matter. And they will do this faster and better than DC...

    Re: Decent vehicle battery brand?

In essence, 6 cells, each 2V, all in series to make 12V.

So if one cell goes short circuit it becomes a 10V battery, it won’t like 14.4 V and it will catch a skrik and let off some gas to relieve...

    errm no.

Panels create kW (Amps and Volts), its an instantaneous measurement. If you add up all the kW generated or consumed for an hour you get kWh (Ah)

  35. Re: Pro User PSA008 Digital Inteligent Battery Charger

Well that's EXACTLY what a normal PSA or Benton or Ctek or etc does.

Bulk charge = Constant current limited by constant voltage. Its a standard CV/CC cycle.
