Re: August brekkie run - with a difference

You should be fine. You have low range, and some ground clearance I believe.

Re: August brekkie run - with a difference

Thanks for the update. I think I will pass on spookspruit, it's not really softy friendly, and even the FL has clearance issues there. Last time I did it I had to skip most of the obstacles. Enjoy it...

Lol, if I make swambo sleep in the FL's boot then I will be sleeping there for the rest of my life. ;D;D

    Re: Ford Figo Service

Yeah, if you quote me x amount, and then try to charge me more, I will refuse to pay, unless if you had to do something else, and first phoned me to get permission.

I must say, I have never run...
  7. Re: 2006 Freelander I 2.0 TD4 HSE (low km) vs 2010 Freelander II 2.2 TD4 HSE (high km

Rather go for a FL2, but as stated, check either that the diff has been done, or that you get 2011 upwards model.

    Re: Freelander 2 Si4

My Disco Diesel gave me 15l/100 km in town driving, best was around 11l/100km on open road. I believe your foot might have a big influence, but also the road and traffic you face. A 16km round trip...

    Re: My Touareg failed me

If you do your research you probably won't have much issues.

I didn't do my research, and bought a Disco 3 TDV6. That one bit me in the behind like you cannot believe.
    I did my research, and...

    Re: Cheque Deposit Fraud

Not the same as yours, but they once cloned my card or something, then waited that same day till just before 12 at nihgt, withdrew the limit(luckily at that stage on R1000), and then again right...

Strange, Absa should come to the party here and sort it out for you.
  12. Re: Newbie. Looking for advice re Disco 4 Engine failure issue.

How old is your car. Anyway, yes, known problem, and JLRSA doesn't help people with this issue. Speak to Mikebob, he can probably sort you out.

Re: 2014 GL350 Bluetec- Why not?

As a side note, if I remember correctly, Johan Maree here on the forum got quoted something in the region of 80-100k for a turbo replacement. So yeah, very nice cars, but if you buy a luxury car,...

    Re: Is this it?

I was a big skeptic initially, but after seeing this vehicle in flesh and blood, if I had the money I would buy it in a heart beat. Mind you, I am not a big fan of the old "hard core" defenders, so...

Re: Can I Fix This Tyre?

More a dig at the general idea.

It's kinda similar to asking whether one walk over fire. Of course you can, and if you do it quick enough you might even get away without being burned. But, are...

Re: Can I Fix This Tyre?

I kinda find these threads funny most of the time.

Firstly, since you are asking, it means you already have your doubts about it. Secondly, you are going to take the advice on this thread that...

    Re: Ford Figo Service

Usually they include stuff like pollen filters and blah blah for that price. I am sorry to say this, even some indies seem to immediately quote you close to 5-6k when you just want an oil service,...

    Re: July Brekkie Run V2.0

Interesting to see conflicting views on the issue. I actually tried googling a bit as well, but I am still non the wiser , as even there I find conflicting views.

    Re: July Brekkie Run V2.0

Another question, we are assuming hydro lock occurred, but if the engine was turned off almost immediately, then surely you have a fairly good chance of not having hydro lock?

    Anyway, I agree,...

Ek wil ook graag so bietjie leer as ek kan.

So, as die enjin draai sonder issues, maar die conrod het wel gebuig, wat is die kans dat dit na groter skade sal lui as mens die enjin dan start?

    Re: Freelander 2 Si4

Yeah, but the Freelander 2 doesn't, well at least mine doesn't.

I can't do the rear pads on the BMW F10 though, as it's EPB, and I don't have a computer thingy to disable it.

    Also, those are...

No, I do not. My brakes don't squeak either. Maybe luck of the draw, maybe not, but I have never applied copper slip.

Thing is, you need to check your discs though, if they are worn, they might...

    Re: Freelander 2 Si4

It's not that difficult to replace brake pads, you should learn to do it yourself, save quite a bit of bob. I found the lights to be sufficient the FL2. Of course it doesn't compare to Xenons, but...

    Re: July Brekkie Run

I think it is a good idea not to cross the borders. Is it still only a dirt road, or are we looking at a track? In essence, will it be challenging, will I get to test my FL's new tyres ;D?
