    Re: Treg Owners

I need some tyre advice please. I have searched the forum but I'm not really finding the hard info or facts, rather, that I need. My 7P has standard 255/55R18 109V XL Pirelli Scorpion Verde All...

    Re: Treg Owners

I also experience the jerky motion on an incline in my 2014 V6, but from reading the gearbox SSP it seems very much like the built in hill hold assist of the gearbox. It is impossible to roll back in...

    Re: Tyre cut badly

So a small slightly unrelated update: From now on anytime I am remotely near a tyre shop I'm going to put my car into Jack mode even if I'm only in the car park. On the afternoon that I first had my...

    Re: Tyre cut badly

Managed to find a tyre of different brand but the exact same size, load rating, wear, road bias etc in Supaquick in Graaff Reinet. Putting that on instead because I feel a lot more comfortable with...

    Re: Tyre cut badly

I had a look at an online calculator came up with basically the same numbers. Such a small difference to my mind surely can't mess things up, especially in the short term. All I can find about it on...

    Touareg 7P Tyre cut badly

I managed to get a huge cut in my back left tyre this morning out on some horrible gravel road.

After driving a bit on the space-saver spare we found a shop that was open that could help us with a...

    Re: Treg Owners

That's what I thought. I can't imagine there's anyone who would spend R8k on engine oil for their VW.

    Re: Treg Owners

Oil change carried out with the correct stuff. The VW branded 507.00 spec oil costs R1000 per litre apparently. I nearly dropped my keys when the guy told me that. DPF is fine.

    Re: Treg Owners

Cool. Would this mishap have affected oil consumption? I've done 13000km and the gauge on the radio is showing one segment from the bottom at this stage. Or is that normal consumption for this engine...

    Re: Treg Owners

Castrol 5W40 B4 is what seems to have gone in there which is VW 502.00 / 505.00. No idea on the ash content of that. If by a slim chance it was the regular Castrol Edge 5W40 then it's the VW 505.01.

    Re: Treg Owners

Really? This sounds like a mess then. The admission was in writing, my initial query was started via email to the service manager and he replied minutes later stating the oil is incorrect.

    I don't...

    Re: Treg Owners

Got a reply from the dealer and they want the vehicle back as they confirm they've used the wrong oil. They want to do an oil change with the correct oil and inspect the DPF.

    Re: Treg Owners

All this talk about oil got me to thinking: I wanted to go and grab a 1lt to keep in the boot for when I need it. I looked at my last invoice from Lindsay Saker and had a look at what they put in my...
  15. Re: 2014 (7P5) Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI Hard shift 2-3 and 3-2

Is that a yes for it being possible to have an update that isn't necessarily seen by VCDS?

I know the coding wouldn't need to change at all but the version for the gearbox itself is still...
  16. Re: 2014 (7P5) Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI Hard shift 2-3 and 3-2

So an update to the progress with this problem:

Went to Hatfield Bryanston in Feb and was told absolutely nothing wrong with the gearbox. Fluid levels checked, latest software etc. but was also...

    Re: Treg Owners

Any idea where I can get a cargo net like this? I love the boot size in this vehicle but for groceries and the rest it's just an un-padded room where everything goes to die.

    Also, what is the mesh...

    Re: Treg Owners

Was just trawling AutoTrader today and found this 2015 V6 TDI. It seems to feature the factory fitted full size spare in the boot. Interesting to see what it looks like.

  19. Re: 2014 (7P5) Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI Hard shift 2-3 and 3-2

Haha I suppose it is far too subjective to simply resolve on a public forum. But, the shifts I'm experiencing have definitely not felt like a conventional "hard shift". I've had plenty of those going...
  20. Re: 2014 (7P5) Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI Hard shift 2-3 and 3-2

That does make me feel a bit less weary about the whole thing. I just want to make sure I'm not taking a stuffed gearbox out of warranty when the time comes. Motorplan until June this year and...
  21. 2014 (7P5) Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI Hard shift 2-3 and 3-2

    Hi,
I recently purchased a 2014 Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI (7P5) with 72000km on the clock. Still under motorplan until June this year. It has generally been driving very well and the gearbox is very smooth...
  22. Re: Touareg T3+ to Cayenne Gearbox Modification via VCDS

I have a 2014 Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI and I have also been playing with the coding. I found on my latest version of VCDS some experimental settings which is the most comprehensive list I have seen so far...
