    Re: Muchenje Safari Lodge

Alto, if you are referring to Muchenje Cottages, maybe scroll up to post 9 above for contact details or PM Bronwen - she may not be monitoring this old thread from 2016.
  2. Re: E-cigarette and vape devices in Botswana??

Yes you can, however in many camps, lodges and increasingly restaurants it is subject to the same restrictions as smoking.
  3. Re: Camping between Khama Rhino & Drotsky's Cabins

Drifters can be a great place, however keep in mind that they prioritize their overland groups who can get a little rowdy.

Alternatively you can pass through Maun and stay at Sitatunga - will get...

    Re: Feedback for October Trip?

No, there is no greater risk of you getting lost from Passarge to Motopi and to the gate then any other track in CKGR. Really, when you see it you will know why I say this. As you exit the park the...

Re: July 2019 self drive to Botswana

Only licenced Guides with a permit to carry passengers may operate a game viewer inside national Parks, you will need to hire a driver as well if you want to go this route.
  6. Re: Satellite or cell phone please help/advise

I can only advise on the Botswana sections of your trip. You will be fine with a Cell phone - I recommend getting a Be Mobile Sim, they seem to have the best coverage in rural areas.

Agree, and you don't want to ruin the run-up to and your holiday by stressing. As said, the route you are taking is well traveled and help is always around, it's on the side roads on game drives that...

    Re: Diesel at Pandamatenga

Yes diesel is available in Panda. As its a thriving farming community I suspect supply should be consistent.

Re: Diesel situation from CKGR to the A3

Backtracking to Mopipi or Nata would be your only fuel options if Rakops is empty.
  15. Re: Trip report - 5 Countries (Moz & Zim sections)

    Re: 2019 trip - 1st timer

Off the top of my head, there are 3 reliable suppliers in Maun:

Mckenzie 4x4 have been around for years offering low to mid range rentals - I believe their highest spec is the NP Nissan Double...

    Re: Khanke Pan-Khutse GR

Khanke Pan sites are exactly what you wanted: isolated and remote from the rest of Khutse. Ablutions are the same as elsewhere. It seems far away from the action but in reality it isnt. I'm quite...

    Re: Feedback for October Trip?

Yes I think you've got suitable experience - more so then many others I suspect - to tackle CKGR.

    Re: Some Borders Closed

Hope you get this in time - as per my reply on your thread. On Saturday we had to turn around 40 odd km from Lobatse due to barricades at Dinokana village and ended up detouring via ramotswa border.

    Re: Explore Boteti river

Re: Current rains and itinerary - backup plan

    Ok, :)

We had some significant rain of late, but being sandveld it drains away easily. Khwai isn't flooded like last year. Give it a day or two to dry out and the roads will be ok. Same goes for...
