    Re: V6 or 2.8 Rubicon?

Just get a JK Unlimited Rubi. The 2dr are too short for decent road and trail driving IMHO. And the V6 is a better option when buying used.

  12. Re: 1994 Suzuki Vitara JLX 1600 Knocking noise in the engine

Thanks for clarifying. Loss of power as well as knocking noises with a cam belt engine means potential trouble. The belt should be replaced every 100,000km on average. Also, the wear and stretch...

Re: Disco 3 tdv6 cylinder firing order

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I recommend getting an independent workshop to do that.

The last thing you need is an injector broken off in a head. And you'd need to code the new...

Defender Re: TD5 Transfer box ratio

    T-case ratio is 1.211

Ashcroft sells a 1.1 ratio gear. This will however only drop your revs by 300rpm @ 120 km/h.

Fastest, cheapest solution for long distance cruising is larger diameter...

    Re: Generator load question

I have a 3000W gennie. It dies if you run a standard kettle off it.

Those numbers on the side are bulldust in my opinion. Power factor of 0.8 is wrong, I reckon closer to 0.6.

    Re: 110 - Double cab & bakkie

You won't find ANY Defender parts anywhere.

I've seen guys buying up the wrecks and rebuilding them, it's an insane market at the moment.
  25. Re: 1994 Suzuki Vitara JLX 1600 Knocking noise in the engine

    OK, I'll bite.

    1) how do you know what is wrong with the engine?
    2) It is probably the cam chain and tensioners
    3) if you aren't aware that most engines of that era already used hydraulic...

Very rare and sought after by the UK importers.

Probably the best engine ever fitted to a Defender.

Ford & Mazda Re: Another 2.2 engine popped

Some have a bulge, some have a dish, some are flat.

Depends on fuel type, fuel delivery technology, target compression, turbo'd or NA, etc.

Most Direct Injection diesel engines have dished...
