  1. Re: Going LifePo4 and ditching the current charging system

So true. Am learning a lot especially the behaviour of bms's with dc-dc chargers, vehicle cabling, anderson plugs etc.. The good old lead acid bat is plug and play and very forgiving. Lifepo4 is...

Re: Camp fridge,105ah battery and solar?

Mm. I run the same setup, 2 fridges 60l NL + 45L Engel 2005 model.
On my normal trips I do not need Solar as the battery runs my fridges for 2 days without charge.

Re: Camp fridge,105ah battery and solar?

Simple, get a 100Ah diy kit 60A BMS from Lithium Batteries SA put it into a neat metalbox, slap a WRND DcDc charger on and Bob's your uncle. Portable, runs your fridge for at least 30hrs, charges...

Re: Solar panels on Roof Top Tent

Another option would be a 100w removable panel on the roof. They are just heavy. I just took my panels 220W out of the cruiser and replaced them with a 200w matt. 20+kg vs 4kg. Same Amps. I run a...

Re: Solar panels on Roof Top Tent

Ok, I do not know what you are charging and what you require power for. Using a single fridge with a 120Ah lifepo4 battery should not be an issue with a combined dc-dc mppt charger as a fridge draws...

Are you sure about this? Balancing only happens at around 14.4V. Over Voltage for LiFePo4 sits at +14.6V. What I gave seen with the Batteries is the following
Charge up to 14.4V battery balances, as...

Re: Lithium profile - AC and MPPT

There are many views on this. From my research and knowledge "float" is @13.8V and charge between 14.4V and 14.6V as ideal.
This is also the general settings for dc-dc chargers.
    With mppt I am not...

You are correct. Defenition of c-rate
Charge and discharge rates of a battery are governed by C-rates. The capacity of a battery is commonly rated at 1C, meaning that a fully charged battery rated...

  21. Re: MECER - IVR -1200MPPT and 2400MPPT - perhaps not for Lithium

    This is not quite correct.
Floating LFP is a complex subject and it is better to avoid floating LFP banks if you can. Some have argued that a float voltage of 3.35VPC or lower (13.4V for a 12V bank)...

    Re: D250S Dual Help

I would fix it and test it. Use it as backup. In addition I would buy a wrnd dc-dc charge. Its cheap and effective with a lithium profile. I have mine for 4 years now and it never missed a beat.
