    Defender Re: Defender inligting benodig

    LT85 ratios is 3.65, 2.18, 1.44, 1.0, 0.795, R3.82. It is a strong working gearbox but do not overpower 5th.

    Re: Ineos Grenadier revealed!!

D-Tox, see you have a "Defender 90 for sale" signature, but the link is dead. Perhaps time to remove that signature.

Inspiration from Willys? That is a bit fresh :-).

    Re: Ineos Grenadier revealed!!

Love the concept, but unfortunately it looks like a bad Santana copy of a real Land Rover. To busy with small details, odd front end, ugly rear light execution.
Now why did they not just do their...

Defender Re: Id gearbox fitted to 3500v8 rover motor

The first 5speed Rangies had the earlier LT77 as they were deemed to not work as hard as V8 Defenders. LT77S (strengthened) were developed when Spanish LT85 supply dried up.

Defender Re: Id gearbox fitted to 3500v8 rover motor

It is a LT77S if it is the original fitted to a V8 Defender (long stick, 52A prefix). Which means it come out of a 91 - 94 V8 Defender, before 91 (when still just a 110) the V8 Defender had the LT85,...

Defender Re: Defender td5 brakes fading

Pedal not returning sounds like a broken return spring inside the main brake cylinder, had the same on a BMW 318 long time ago.

    Re: Land Cruiser 200 tyres

Also make sure the tyres you put on has the OEM load- and speed ratings. Anything lower than original, and insurance may become a problem at claim time.

  20. Re: Can I run AT at the back and normal in the front

Irrespective of the 4x4 system, I would not run AT's rear and Highway tyres front. Full tread AT tyres will have much larger slip angles than the HT tyres at the front when going around turns at...

I would say a SIIA with lights on the grill and metal dash is more of a classic than a SIII with lights on the fenders and plastic dash.

    Re: Carb conversion

One thing not to forget if you replace fuel injection with carb is to also replace the fuel pump with a low pressure unit, otherwise it pushes open the carb needle floats and flood the engine.
