    In our case the insulation is for for heat. Think directly under corrugated iron. Very hot - was in a house that had harvetile and thin thatch like mine with no insulation. was unbearable

    HAve had Harvey tiles over thatch for about 12 years. Was worth doing. We removed the majority of the grass so have a very thin layer as a ceiling with think pink type stuff.and then the Harveytiles....
