Grand Cherokee Re: Pipes for Windscreen Nozzles (WK)

Whats wrong with the existing ones?

I had to glue mine back together at one stage, that was 5 years ago now.
  2. Re: Some Evoque questions - Dont tease me :/

Ridiculous indeed - I would change the oil every 15k just to be on the safe side.

Re: Return to the Dark Side.

After years of messing around with those all in one Android headunits that have now twice packed up after 2 years, I have gone back to the stock head unit.

    Re: In a Jeep again...

    Welcome back!

I have recently installed this little gadget and now I finally have bluetooth music streaming in the stock Boston radio. So that was the last little niggle I had with the WK sorted....

    Re: BF Goodrich KO2.

Wet stories where related to KO1.

KO2 so far on the Jeep (AWD) has been excellent in the wet. No complaints.

Overall in fact I find them to be a great tyre. They are much quieter than I...

  8. Re: Some more thinking... Some more of your thoughts please.

You are going to lose R400 000 no matter what if you go down this route.

Thats why I would rather only spend that amount up front and then not worry about the resale. This one should still have a...
  9. Re: Some more thinking... Some more of your thoughts please.

    Coming back on topic...

The "new" GC WK2 is now already fairly old, which is a good thing, most of the issues should have been ironed out by now.

There is a replacement coming 2021

    Re: Tankwa Karoo Nasionale Park

If you can add a second spare easily, then I would say yes. I've lost two tyres within an hour on that road, i've also done it 5 other times and had nothing go wrong.

    MY opinion is keep pressures...

    Re: Best sites for info

    http://www.wk2jeeps.com/

Good site for all sorts of info.

WK2 is a complex luxury SUV, but don't think it's worse than any of the others on the market reliability wise.

Re: ASPW's latest build in Oz

He also said he would not be trying out other brands as he was sponsored and thought that was unethical. That sponsorship has now lapsed and he is open to trying other brands again, which he is now...

Re: ASPW's latest build in Oz

I watch his shows precisely because he has an opinion... and one that doesn't flinch at calling out a poor product for fear of backlash.

  16. Re: 2012 Cherokee 2.8 crd KK suspension lift (liberty)

They can only handle a mild lift. 2inch max, which is fine for most applications.

When I had my KJ (same underpinnings), I added spacers and standard shocks, had no issues, and helped a lot with...

Grand Cherokee Re: OEM Rims - GC 2014 Overland

I would say that most of the time they can be swopped.
But ultimately you will need to try it to be sure.

Grand Cherokee Re: Grand Cherokee Suspension Query

Well, think about what it's doing. It's inflating the airbag up to its maximum so that the suspension is raised to its maximum. Obviously, it has to do this by pumping up the airbag very hard. So it...
  25. Re: Good quality portable 12v pure sine wave inverter

Re: How big an inverter to run this?

You do get soft-start thingy's that make the start up current more acceptable. They use them on yachts a lot.

Grand Cherokee Re: OEM Rims - GC 2014 Overland

    18 inch or 20 inch?

Maybe that price for all 5 realistically?

I think it depends on the demand, there are Wrangler rims on sale for R3500 for the set.

  32. Discovery 3 Re: Tyre Size Options - All Terrain - Discovery 3 17" rim size (7J)

265/65/17 is probably the most widely available tyre size. So that helps too when far from home.

Go for the LT spec tyre, not a P spec.

    LT- equals light truck
    P - equals passenger.

    Re: Panels, too many choices

The flexi panels tend to vibrate in the slip stream and break the internal electric links, unless you glue them down directly to the roof.

Then you seem to get the very light weight fixed panels,...

Grand Cherokee Re: Grand Cherokee Suspension Query

I would think that the lower profile tyres would be more of an impact vs Air/Coil Springs.
  35. Re: The Volkswagen up! as a viable city car choice

Well don't trade a VW at Toyota and you will most likely do better. Or sell private, or give WeBuyCars a call. They are often 20K more than most other places.
