    There is a 3500LB sticker on that ball. It suggests that towing of 1.5 ton trailer is OK. Gen4 Pajeros have pretty long tow bars as well.

    Smaller rim, with a correspondingly larger tyre, is an offroad bias setup. The benefit of reduced pressure over corrugations, or on soft sand, can be very significant.

    If you go for 17" rims and the "standard" 265/65 tyre, then you increase the rolling distance by just under 4%. That will really not be noticeable.

    Yip, the 18" rims sell quickly. They fit on all the popular bakkies out there. I sold my Chev rims to a chap with a Triton.

    Yip, my old Chevy also has the ability to disable TC, SC or both. The auto rear difflock never goes away, though.

    I once read on a Pajero website that it is a permanent 4wd vehicle, with optional rwd.
    I thus agree with the gents above, yes you can.

    When I was shopping for rims I quickly learnt to stop talking about 139.7. The guys type it into their computer and come up blank. Type in 140 and the screen comes to life.
