    Re: Hella Comet 500 Upgrade

The comets are very old. Had them for years on my Colt. The cost of LED back then was crazy expensive.

So for R384, to turn the Comets into something I can use today makes me pretty stoked.

    Hella Comet 500 Upgrade

So i removed a cheap set of LED spots from my car that i bought on Takealot, they actually make it worse when driving almost blinding up close. I noticed this when driving on a back road towards...

Re: Car Roof Lining - how to fix??

I replaced mine in the bakkie when it sagged.

Pulled out the roof liner, bought some car speaker box fabric and Genkem glue. Used a paint brush to liberally put it over the liner, let it touch...

    Re: 2008 Ford Ranger 3,0 S/Cab 4x4 - Issues??

I have never had to take mine anywhere close to 3500rpm.

Torque kicks in super low. Around 1500.

    Re: 2008 Ford Ranger 3,0 S/Cab 4x4 - Issues??

I love my 3.0 but I bought one that had not been treated well. Dont toe in 5th, drive it with EGT in mind, and consider servicing it every 7500km, it will go forever.

I have had to do gearbox as...

    Re: Suspension advice please

I had similar issues. Hard tyre pressure makes it very skittish.

Can you not take it to a expert and have them test the shocks also? Generally adding those helpers (I had a set) make driving with...

    Re: Which tyre jack.

    Works great.

Mine had a rounded cap on top, I took a grinder to it to make it concave. Just feels more secure under the car.

The Dunlop's are not in this as they came out after but a search on this site will show some reviews.

    Re: Replacing RTs with ATs

BF are fine in sand. Never had a issue. This is a old wives tale in my opinion. Someone said this you has either never owned them or didn't reduce tyre pressure low enough

My current tyre is a MT...

Re: Struggling to start after head gasket fix

Re: 2017 Ford Ranger handling issues

So i had a similar issue after fitting a set of Grabber MTs. Would hit a bump at high speed and bakkie would give a serious twitch. That was with brand new shocks, torsion bars and leaf springs.

    Re: Which tyre jack.

Just stick the spare under the car while removing wheel, at least if the worst happens it will land on the spare rim.

Sprayed the wheels black and fitted them. They balanced tine but weigh a ton. Also found the centre caps but not sure if I want to fit them. Kinda like the look without them.

    Love the look...

Re: Struggling to start after head gasket fix

Ya it cost just shy of R50K. :'(

That included refurb of all the injectors (R13k), rings, bearings, radiator, hoses, oil pump, water pump, head refurbished, block rehoned, etc.

    I don't think...

Re: Struggling to start after head gasket fix

I saw a fantastic product advertised in the states. Allows you to cut a pipe, and then add a connector rejoining them. This connector then has a threaded hole to add a probe.

    Will see if I can...

Put a canopy on. Will load up rear and make it ride better.

I always can feel when we run out Bakkies with no load. Much harder.
