    Re: Ford dealers Cape Town

OME and OEM is not the same thing.
  2. Re: Ford Ranger Wildtrack 2017 - Do or Don't extend warranty

I say extend the warranty. At +-R12k for an extra 60k km manufacturers warranty is cheap insurance.
I contemplated the same thing a few months ago and decided my 3.2 was running strong, no need for...

    Re: Ranger/bt 50 150 000km service

If you want to keep your warranty you'll have to service at Ford.
Phone them, they'll give you a price and what is done.
The 150k is a pricey service.

    Re: Ford Ranger Services

"Apparently" and "was told" can easily be solved by reading the manual.

Technology (quality of oils etc.) has come a long way. If the manual says 20k, that is what will retain your warranty.

Re: Ranger 3.2 do's and dont's in sand

You have the Auto, so it loves sand.

Beach sand - 4H Sport Mode.
Dune sand - 4L Sport Mode.

    And just gun it.

I did the Lüderitz - Walvis trip with a 3.2 Manual, hardly ever used Low Range....

Re: Ford Ranger - Crap plastic, fantastic!

    Sho, that looks bad.

I have also done 220 000km between two XLT's and I have not had any issues. Been in pretty much every part of SA with them, and I choose gravel roads over tar where possible....

  18. Re: Do I worry about the Kilometers on a 200 Cruiser?

It has been mentioned already, but mainly because the most wear occurs while a vehicle is getting up to operating temperature.
Correct operating clearances are achieved at operating temp. The longer...
  19. Re: Do I worry about the Kilometers on a 200 Cruiser?

Many kilometers in a short time usually indicates long distances.
Vehicles love that. So no, don't worry one bit.

Ford & Mazda Re: Ranger wheel alignment

Tyre places, in my experience (with the Ranger), are absolutely USELESS at doing alignment properly.
I've had different places redo it so many times I lost count.

I've used Eurospeed twice now and covered roughly 100 000km between 2 remapped Rangers without any problems.
    They are in Randburg though.

It's also "lifetime" maps, so if Ford decides to...

  26. Re: Fortuner GD 6 4x4 - Namibia dune trip - fuel, roof racks & recovery

When I did the trip, most Diesels did around 4 - 4.5 km/l. Petrols obviously more.
We were advised to take 180 liters per Diesel vehicle and 220 for petrol.
Out route was 600km, and the V8...

  28. Re: Ford dealer want to charge me to strip vehicle which is still under warranty

I think it just needed to be stated clearer by the dealer.

I have done it. But it was the manual 3.2 4x4.

Re: Turbo problems on new Ranger?

This was more than 1.5 years ago...

Re: Turbo problems on new Ranger?

    Ok quick story:

    I had a 2012 3.2 4x4. At around 60 000km I installed a 76mm full exhaust.
Not long after that I remapped it.

At the 105k service, Ford said there is a slight whistle on the...
