    Re: Ithala Doornkraal Campsite

That's odd, because I've just made my booking over the phone at the booking office in PMB and they made no mention of it being closed until end of April.

Where did you find out that they were...

    Re: Ithala Doornkraal Campsite

Has anyone been to the campsite recently?

We have booked three nights at the campsite over the Easter Weekend next month and will be towing our Jurgens Oryx. Hopefully road access conditions are...
  7. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

I know that my battery was not fully charged at the time of the test. It was in the Bulk charge state according to my Victron solar regulator.
  8. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Sorry but I donít understand? How do you know what my voltage reading was?
  9. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

I did that and the watt readings for the toaster and microwave corresponded quite closely to the indicated wattage on the appliances' labels.
  10. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

So, if I get two 12V batteries connected in parallel, that should alleviate the amps demand to some extent?
  11. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Hmmm, a bit puzzled after testing a 900W toaster and a 1050W microwave oven.

Both appliances worked fine (tested separately) but, in the case of the toaster, the inverter beeped continually and...
  12. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Yes it is the pure sine wave inverter. So far itís working fine. Busy testing various appliances on it.
  13. Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Connected my 3000W Changi inverter to the battery in my Jurgens Oryx. Found the perfect unutilised spot next to the battery compartment to mount it, under the bed base.

The view of the setup from...
  14. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Does the inverter in the OP have a built in fuse or do I need to install a fuse on the positive lead between the battery and the inverter? I see that the unit shipped with two 40A fuses.
  15. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Busy chatting to the first gent now!
  16. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Does anyone want to swop their Banggood 3000W 12V pure sine inverter with my Banggood 3000W 24V pure sine inverter?

I stupidly ordered the 24V one instead of the 12V one.
  17. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Would a 24v Dc to 12v Dc converter do the trick?
  18. Homemade Tilt Stand for my Solar Panels

Iíve just made two tilt stands for my rigid 100W solar panels, using PVC piping, T joins and 90 deg joins.

    A cheap and effective exercise.

  19. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Thanks, I will bear that in mind. Let me first make sure it is a 24V one when it arrives.

    Where are you based?
  20. Re: Impressed with China Pure Sine Wave Inverter

I ordered my Chinese 3000W inverter two days ago, and Iíve just realized that I ordered the 24V one instead of the 12V one, and I only have one 12V deep cycle battery in my camper!

    The order is...

  22. Installation of Solar Panels to Jurgens Oryx

Can anyone recommend someone, in the Durban area, that can fit/install two rigid 150W solar panels onto my Jurgens Oryx, and connect it to my deep cycle battery? I have already purchased the panels.
