    Hi Aubrey

I can only 2nd your sentiments about Elton. Have been dealing with him for nearly 9+ years now and his knowledge never stops to amaze me.

  4. Re: Damage to Disco/ Range Rover due to jumpstarting incorrectly

On modern vehicles, where the battery is in a hard to get to place, there is a negative earth point clearly marked, on the FFRR's it is on the left strut dome, to where the negative clamp of the...
  5. Re: Mistakes people make with air suspensions... Especially hapless jurnos

I still chuckle when I think back to 2010, when I had to pull a Disco4 out of the sandpit at Gerotek, (driver fault) with my Disco 1 ES 300Tdi ;D ;D during one of the LROC weekend driver training...

  7. Re: what have you done with / to your Range Rover (Big Body) today

I still enjoy driving my Fattie (2003 Td6). When I bought it in 2015, it still had the CAT and EGR fitted. So those were removed immediately. Since then it has given me sterling service ;D

    Hi Brombeer

you can get the parts from All-O-Matic in JNB or from ZF in Edenvale.

Best would be to put the vehicle on a trailer and tow it to Sean at the Gearbox Company in Stryjdom Park.

    Hi Dam1Kitch

remember that 3.0 V6 petrol is a Ford engine, so spares should be available from 3rd party suppliers.

    Re: Ffrr 3.6 tdv8

    Hi Beesblaas

if your budget commands you to look at sub 200K Value rigs, then yes the TDV8 3.6.

If you can stretch to 350-400K then rather look for a TDV8 4.4 (2010-2012).

    4.4 is the better...
  13. Re: what have you done with / to your Range Rover (Big Body) today

Congrats Alwyn and TP! Welcome to the Big Body Range Club. You will love that vehicle. The ride is so much smoother than on the D3/D4. But you will miss the much bigger boot space of the Discos....
  14. Re: MediaRelease: Straight-six performance & electric superchargers for Range Rover S

That is a welcome addition. And electric super chargers are more effective and drain less power from the engine. The "mild" engine reminds me of the low boost altitude compensation turbos on the...

Re: Oil for transfer case and diffs

I always used Castrol EPX90 in the LT230, and the 2 diffs. R380 gearbox always was filled with normal Dexron IID from a reputable brand.

    Sold the rig at 380'000km.

  17. Discovery 3 Re: Transmission Fault before starting car. NO other faults.

    Hi Jelo

Corrected my reply under pos. 4.

Had the same issue once with my Disco 1 300Tdi's OEM Speed control, where the brake pedal position contact was dodgy in the off position.

    And had it...

    Re: Discovery 3 Fuel Issues

    Hi Viperover

We are talking diesel engines here and therefore I don't agree with you. Even if you mix 1:100 you won't damage the engine. If you go down to 1:50 you will get some blue smoke out...

    Very sensitive advice from JacquesC!!

Oil pump change at the very earliest convenience is a must on D3 TDV6's, espcially if its VIN states it as a 2007 or later model. Those oil pumps are dodgy...
