    Re: Good Eating, Port Elizabeth

Went a couple of years ago and the food was out of this world. Is the food still good though?

Re: Wanted - Canon Kit Lens

Indeed I do. I have a EFS 17-55mm and the EFS 18-55. So the 18-55 is superfluous to my needs.

It has a Kenko UV filter bolted on and both lens caps.

    Re: Restoring a 1963 Gladiator

What nice memories, I had one in Karoi in Zimbabwe while in military service, it was mine prepared so the extra weight from the plates removed most the effect of the suspension. It looked as if the...

    Re: Jetty Fenders

I have just bought 4 fenders from a Cape Town operation. These were the cheapest I could find by a long shot and they are perfect at R 250ea plus shipping. Nice soft PVC that you can inflate to your...

  10. Re: Hilux 2.4 GD 6 DC 4x4 fuel consumption when towing

I'll chip in with its brother.

Borrowed my mates 2.4 Fortuner 4X2 A/T. Towed a boat with mass of circa 1 000kg, so in the slipstream, up from Durban North to Alberton. Whatever the speed limit was...

  12. Re: 1st Hand Advise Needed - Fazer 170 Boat (somewhat urgent)

Die oppervlakte van the 4 blade is meer so n 17" pitch 4 blade sal drop teenoor n 17" pitch 3 blade. Ek sal skat dat n 15" pitch blade omtrent die selfde sal wees as n 17" 3 blade.

    Ek vermoed dat...

Ek dink die beste is om vir hulle te bel.

My mening is dat n 15" 4 lem prop sal werk.
  14. Re: 1st Hand Advise Needed - Fazer 170 Boat (somewhat urgent)

Jy kyk in die verkeerde plekke.

4 blade prop 15 (dogfishmarine.co.za) OK so it is not SS but at R 1950, and add another R 950 for the prop hub kit this may well be worth your while.

    Re: GD6 auto sport mode?

I have just noticed that in the early days it was called a 2.4, and the 2.8 was the GD-6. Did not realise that the 2.4 is also now a GD-6.

So when I said that my GD-6 had paddles it referred to...

Fortuner Re: Toyota Fortuner buying guide?

We will agree to differ here, at low speed more refined. Highway driving and towing they are a lot of work. My 2.8 barely raised a sweat on undulating open roads, my 4.0l I have to constantly put my...

Fortuner Re: Toyota Fortuner buying guide?

    This weekend I learnt that a 2.4l Fortuner is great value for money. I have owned 2X4 D4D A/T, 4X4 D4D A/T, 2.8 4X4 DG6 A/T, 4.0l 4X4 V6. On Friday I borrowed my partners 2.4l A/T Fortuner to go...

Keep the space for spares ;D. Seriously I will have a look, we import from the UK but on an infrequent basis so our chronometers may not align.

    Re: GD6 Manual or Auto

Just on the side. The gearbox "issues" are far less apparent on the 4.0l. The turbo on the diesel makes the problem worse. I have owned both.

It depend what fins you speak of. There is the Hydrofoil that fits to the lower unit of the motor, I don't like these as they put strain on the motor mounts etc. You get the Trim Tabs which most...

Re: Breaking ability of Hilux 2008

The brake compound may be a little hard for longer life. Check if there is not a softer compound but this will increase brake wear.

Re: Breaking ability of Hilux 2008

Check your your Explorer's brakes and adjustment. The car could be braking for both, the Explorer needs to carry it's own braking load.
