    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

I also use thin plywood to close the hole from inside. It fits in place with velcro. I also have velcro against the 'back' wall of the fridge space (when you face the fridge area from within the...
  2. Re: Hercules 20 power pack jurgens xt 140 etc camping trailers

For this reason I totally bypassed the Hercules for charging the batteries as well as any 12V connections. In short, the Hercules is only used for managing the 220V power distribution when connected...
  3. Caravan towering regulations in the USA

    Hi,

I'm looking for info about regulations in the USA regarding caravans. For example, do they have to be breaked, do they have to have break away chains, etc?

I realize that each state has its...

Myne brand so skoon op gas dat die enigste manier om te weet dat die gas aan is is om te luister by die skoorsteen uitlaat of versigtig daaraan te voel of dit warm is en of daar warm lug uitkom....

  9. Re: Silver sheet and stormnet for L shape awning

There were posts in the past on this subject. There is someone, can't recall their name, who apparently makes quality silver sheets. What made it interesting was that it is modular because you could...

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

I have a 2010 model that I'm really happy with. It was before the additional cupboard space that opens up to the outside was added to the sides of the bed in front but the fridge can be pulled out...
  11. Re: Feedback Wanted: Melville and Moon Bokseil seat covers

I've got the 2nd set on my seats. I put the first set on in 2007 and eventually had to replace them because the one on the driver seat eventually scuffed through. They were faded because of the sun...

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

Surely you must be able to gain 9cm at least? The wheels should cut out the rubber portion which is more than 5cm at the top of the wheel and at least another 5cm at the bottom. I'm thinking it will...

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

Try giving Campworld in Boksburg a call and ask them if they can give you the part number. I've always found them to be very helpful.

    Re: National Luna Intelligent Solenoid

Agree that DC to DC simply to save on cable thickness alone, does not make sense. As I said, even if your batteries do not fully charge while driving, this is typically a temporary situation. Of...

    Re: National Luna Intelligent Solenoid

    Your idea will work fine.

While I had the same setup with the NL selenoid and aux battery in the back, I opted not to use the selenoid to charge the batteries in the caravan while travelling. My...

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

I went the same route. The only thing I use the Hercules for is for the 220V feed. Everything else that is 12V is disconnected from the Hercules, including the batteries. For the three 105A batteries...

    Re: Jurgens Xplorer Fan Club

Very nicely done. What year model is the Explorer? Looking at the drawer, it is quite long so must be sliding all the way under the bed. In my van it will clash with the water tank, so I'm wondering...

Agree with Somabula. A great place to visit and in your back yard if you're from Pretoria. I posted a review on YouTube after we visited Somabula a couple of months ago.

    Re: WRND DC-DC chargers

You are correct about the NL selenoid and WRND. As a matter of fact, the two do not play nice together as I had to learn the hard way. :) The NL selenoid will not open if it does not "see " the aux...
  29. Re: National Luna Intelligent Selinoid with WRND DC to DC Controller question

If you are simply installing a WRND DC-DC controller feeding a deep cycle battery, you do not need a selenoid between the vehicle's main battery and the aux battery. The WRND will protect the main...

    ATKV Eiland Spa report

    Hi,

I was fortunate to spend two weeks at the ATKV Eiland Spa in Limpopo, in the middle of the Hans Merensky nature reserve. This is a family type resort and not the type of place if you want to...

  33. Re: CampSavvy Review: Hotrods Cookout BBQ portable braai

The Kwikbraai is a great product and I really appreciate the quality of it. I did take a serious look at it since it is really portable. Folded size was however not at the top of my personal priority...
  34. Re: CampSavvy Review: Hotrods Cookout BBQ portable braai

I have a cob too but it didn't quite work for me when I needed a standard braai. The diameter was too small for just a regular braai on a grid. I guess this depends on how much meat you have to...
  35. Re: CampSavvy Review: Hotrods Cookout BBQ portable braai

Not at all. The base plate is as wide as the pan. I've even had a no 3 cast iron potjie on it, though it was placed in the centre of the grid. It's very stable.
