R2900 for the alternator. I installed it so no labor costs.

So just for anyone that may be interested in fitting a larger alternator, I have found a solution (with help from an Australian site). I took the plunge and ordered a 120A alternator (Toyota Land...
My Alternator is on the verge of not coming back. just pushing on until next month then will change it out for a bigger bulkier one. will update if it works. Zook alternator wont be going back in...
Does anyone have any suggestions for one night camping stop overs near Mossel Bay? All I seem to find are the very commercial camp sites in town - not that there is anything wrong with them, but for...
Agree and disagree with you on that. Passenger weight is between the two axles thus approximately 50kg on front axle. This isnt where big issue comes in. Since passenger is between front and rear...
If that bumper with all of its kit and hardware weighs less than 20kg I'd be very very surprised. Easy to make a bumper less than 20kg. Its the brackets and the bolts that no one tells you about. If...
Have determined these will work on SJ80 coilies too ;);)
Yep only front
I have one lying in the garage for the jimny ;);)
Just need a bit of moolah for bushes so can test it.
I am thuroughly impressed with the results of the arms as is at the moment so will...
Built and fitted caster corrected radius arms ;););)

I've been fiddling with the idea of building my own caster corrected radius arms for the Jimny lately and can confirm that it has been a successful project.
I have been playing around with design...
I'll let the pictures do the talking :cool:

Nah i like mine ;););)455989455990455991455992
I have the Duelers. Very happy with them. Done about 40k on them. Guessing have another 30k left to go. Very nice soft sidewall brilliant for Jimny offroad.
Really no rocket science to "self install" a lift. I did a "self install" but have had castor correction bushes fitted. Cant see how castor correction fill fix this issue though
No? Do these things exist? I thought of putting them on but wasn't sure of how to approach the design of them
Nothing torn or broken. We jacked up left side of car to full suspension droop and with a firm tug on the swaybar the link popped back down into correct location.
Yes can be done but they had to fiddle with it a bit. Couldn't find Suzuki reg but one from some Toyota fitted. Only diff is suzuki alternator has 3 lugs and Toyota regulator has two. Two on...
He told me he's already got a 5K O2 sensor where I told him to shove his alternator :p
I got quote from Suzuki few months ago for new alternator as mine totally stopped working - R9500
Took it to Motolek and they replaced voltage regulator. Had no issues since.
So..... I was driving Atlantis dunes a week or two ago and came to a stop at the top of a dune after a loud pop.
Reversed down and could feel something odd - left front suspension was totally...
LED is a "Light emitting Diode". Diode means that current can only flow through it in one direction. Those switches normally have a positive wire coming in to the switch and one going out to the bar....
My jimny is also quite thirsty. I get about 9km/l. 50mm lift with 215/75 MT tyres, roof rack and snorkel.
With my tyres the speedo and GPS speed is exactly the same. 120km/h on speedo is 120km/h...
I had a set machined. Worked like a charm. They're still on the car today. Not rocket science to someone who knows what they're doing on a lathe but you're going to have to find someone that doesn't...
When I made this bumper I had quite some enquiries from people asking if I will consider making some for sale.
Can't remember who they were.
Please contact me as I will be making a very...
I am posting this to let everyone know that I will be making a limited number of jimny bumpers in the upcoming month or so for sale. Attached is a forum of my first build and it has vastly improved...
All the local ones you can buy are 32mm. I had a set that I had turned down to 26mm and worked perfectly. 4x4 Direct sells them
Did you end up buying local or through Amazon?
Also I see your air flow to radiator may be compromised now [emoji23]
I decided on it as it is mainly for charging the second battery and I want that to happen as efficiently as possible. Overkill is underrated [emoji16] [emoji16]
That's why I took 25sq to back
A front bumper for Jimny with proper mounts and recovery points made from 2mm should be well under 20kg. I'm not spitting figures here. I've seen it. A 2mm shell (without brackets weighs a mere 10kg...
Please read again what was stated earlier. It was stated that a steel bumper is good because it does not give way or crumple at all.
Very very few bumpers are made with 2mm sheet. All I have...
I'm with sandboarder on this one. Solid bumper way too heavy to start off with for suspension and the engine. Also a solid bumper on a Jimny in a "serious" accident will be like being in a bumper car...
