  1. Re: First fridge/freezer - Help me make the right decision please

From experience I can tell you you don't want slighty off meat, especially chicken.

Yes they keep the chickens at 2 or 3 degrees in the shop, but it is constant. If you switch your fridge off...
  2. Re: First fridge/freezer - Help me make the right decision please

For those requirements, I will go dual compartment irrespective of brand.

I don't like the idea of switching off a fridge at night. Might not be so bad on winter nights, but in summer in the...

The lower dune road was horrible in April, if the upper dune road is worse then it must be really really bad.

Ons het gevind dat dit goed werk om die karavaan maar nose down op die drive way te laat staan en net die tuinslang agter by een van die channels in te druk en die water te laat deurloop. Maak die...

Re: Khubu island to Nxai pan

    Time of year?

I think that Gabs to Nxai pan will be a long day. The access track to Nxai is tough.

The Subaru miight struggle with ground clearance. The Discovery will sail through.

Yes, the U shaped part of the middle section is now a bit shallower with a very high density foam in that section so that it does not get damaged by the ridge over time. A softer high density is...

We tried about everything with that ridge. I ended up having the middle section remade with better quality high density foam in two different thicknesses. It helped about 95%.

Why Mosomane? Do you specifically want to do the northern route? If I recall correctly a stop over at Mosomane is compulsory for that route.

The southern route is the more often used 2 way...

  21. Re: Please, help us to choose best itinerary for a Botswana tour of about 20 days.. =

    Welcome Massiliano!

If you include the CKGR, I would say that 20 days are a bit tight, but can be doable. You just might end up moving every day and will miss a lot of the 'spirit' of Botswana....

No without a doubt Bogaards, but the budget does not allow for new tyres at the moment. The Dunflops have done 23 000 km. Maybe we write on or 2 off in Namibia in December. >:D;D

We were meant to leave the 14th, but life happened and only leaving the 19th. Crossing at Nakop on the 20th. We are doing part of the south this year.
  32. Re: Driving through Botswana to Namibia at night, good idea?

Remember we met at Lobatse. Was the 16th December 2017. Lobatse took us 3,5 hours, Buitepos 7 hours. We drove through the gate 23:55 and crawled to Zelda's. You were a bit before us.
