    Surely you can achieve close or very similar if you remove the fibreglass hard top, and fit a custom built canopy, look at what Blinkgat does for example, or RSI etc.

    I would start with SMS only. Check if there is a status command in the manual that replies with the current status via SMS.
    Once that is sorted move onto the APN settings.

    It usually have a status command, and a password, default password usually something like 666666, I am trying to remember but to get device status you would sms...
