    Furnlock.

    Check out their website.
Mine extends 1m out of 110 rear and can take about 80kg per slide at 400mm extension.

Oh... and talk to a aircraft structural worker(sheety)

They can help you with a lot of the questions you have.

    Re: Rivet Counters

Not too familiar with the technicalities of the series.

But rivet lengths will vary according to amount of metal being fastened.

So you can buy the longest and trim them to the correct lengths...

Defender Re: Gullwing doors / kitchen / packing system

    Good news today!
I took4 G clamps and anchored the 4 corners, this was done to eliminate the flex.

    Everything worked perfectly.
With the frame and door on it's own the stresses caused it to flex...

Discovery 1 Re: Brakes - no brakes and then fine again ?

This might sound a bit backyard, but here goes:

To check for loss of vacuum on enige, spray something flammable and...

Re: Cape Town vehicle licence renewals

My MIL's vehicle license expired last month.

She got a R600 fine this morning.

Isn't there a extension for renewal?

Cop said there is no such thing.

Defender Re: Defender 2002 - Side Shaft Question

There is nothing holding it in place, it is a free floating shaft.

There are only 4 things that shaft touches.(I think)

    Oil seal
    Planetary gear

My bet is on the seal,...

Re: 300 Tdi oil cooler - necessity of?

Try to keep the oil cooler, it will extend the life of your oil.

Remember the turbo is cooled by oil and that sits at an average of 500C.

Remember if box is locked in let's say 1st, if you drop Txbox in neutral you can push it away.

Re: Help need to immobilise series 3

In the UK they push it onto a rollerback and drive away.

You need to make it so that they can't push it out of the garage.

Removing the wheels isn't such a bad idea.

Re: Roofrack mounts for 110 Defender

The legs from the Frontrunner rack is 75mm wide with 2 holes on the centre line.

So you will have to drill new holes, if it's wide enough.

    Re: Td5 Warped Exhaust Manifold

That technique really works, one of my colleagues uses it to remove broken off studs from outboard motors.

Takes some time and you will probably do it more than once per bolt.
    But it works.

Re: TD5 starting problem - Stumped

On 300Tdi it will be the spill return that's leaking.

Does a Td5 have something like that?

    Re: Defender 130 Overlander build

My option, if I remember correctly it's called sawtooth, will have the required rating because of military use.

Those are the only alloy wheels I've ever liked on a Defender.
