    Re: Snorkel vs snorkel

I live in the dry dusty Great Karoo that has been through a drought and all but one road here is dirt. I have an Isuzu 4x4 Frontier with 350 000 on the clock and a JMC DC 4x4 Bakkie which is an Isuzu...

    Re: Snorkel vs snorkel

Thanks for the input. There are a number of debates on this forum regarding this aspect. It will increase fuel consumption because of friction losses between the air and the path inside the snorkel....

Re: Meat in Lobatse or Jwaneng

Lobatse has an enormous abattoir. There should be meat available all over on a Saturday morning. Just ask at the fuel station and they will point you to butchers.

    Re: Driving through water

The point of my post is that the owner could easily have driven around that "puddle" but chose to stop, remove the cones, and drive through it - on a tar road. I just can't find any sympathy.

    Re: Driving through water

Fortuna owner in George and son OK today after moving the cones before driving through a puddle instead of around it. Doubt a snorkel would have helped:

    Re: Driving through water

Quick general explanation. When the oil and metal gets hot the air inside the diffs and axle expands. To let the expanded air out there are equalisation breather valves on the diff. This prevents...

Accepted as a possible reason. My question then would be that you now need an extra locator per vehicle which is of a different design to the bolts. So the question now is, is it a mechanical...

Interesting. Where in the WC? I've seen them between Garies and Vanrhynsdorp and there are no euphorbias there either.

    Re: Namaqua wes kus

The railway service road between Elandsbaai and Lamberts Bay is a toll road. Not sure where to get a permit but the locals in either town will help out and point you in the right direction.
