Re: When you really miss camping

And in the case of the van Wyk family, it is a very positive kind of "different".
  2. Re: Land Rover Defender vs Ford Everest - Let's open a can of worms

As a complete outsider, I would consider two things.

    1. Landrover have been owned by a number of companies, and I suspect that some of the engines used have been good and others not so good. The...

  4. Re: How long does it take you to complete an oil change on a TD5 Defender

Shouldn't a really good Landy drip just a little oil?

How about spreading some new oil on the rest of the garage floor to have a standardised finish.

Re: Taking over payments on financing?

Some insurers may - and provided full disclosure has been made - be willing to underwrite a vehicle belonging to a third party on a policy. Obviously if full disclosure is not made, you could end up...

    Re: Forester Aircon Repairs

I vaguely remember the once that I took my car in for aircon repairs that the technicianlit a flame on some sort of burner and then played it over the coolant pipes. The flame changed colour in the...
  8. Re: Water outage in Kloof (Hillcrest or P inetown?)

The water came back again on Saturday night. Of course only after I had run some hot water from my gravity geyser and waited for it to cool down enough to bath in.

Supply was iffish for much of...

Re: CAR INSURANCE - your help please

Try Raymond du Plessis and Tuffstuff?

I suppose that it is when you are "resident" in Malawi, rather than travelling through that creates the difficulty.
  10. Re: Water outage in Kloof (Hillcrest or P inetown?)

Water seemed to be out right up to Waterfall.

Came back on here about 2pm, but seems to have gone off again just after 8pm.
  11. Water outage in Kloof (Hillcrest or P inetown?)

Been off since last night. Comments at the Mall are that Metro has not been paying its plumbing contractors and now they are refusing to work (or in busines rescue). I believe parts of Hillcrest were...

Re: Airport Lounges - OR Tambo

Bidvest lounges both on international and domestic sides are comfortable. I actually prefer the domestic one to the BA and SAA lounges. Haven't used them enough to become bored with the menu.
  13. Re: TDSA Website Improvements - We Want Your Feedback!

In response to the comment from TDSA that the law provides recourse against those who falsely malign them.

Yes, you can sue such people for damages in a civil claim. Their best defence would most...
  14. Re: TDSA Website Improvements - We Want Your Feedback!

My advice to TDSA is to stop playing the victim in your posts.

At the moment we have Ace claiming the book about him is a smear campaign, Iqbal Surve blaming WMC, unspecified cabinet ministers...

  22. Re: 2016 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.4 Summit - Still a good buy?

My Summit does what it does exceptionally well. I have been over some exceptionally unmaintained and steep tracks in Zululand and was amazed at how well it handled them. I am told they do very well...

I feel it is almost worth replacing your battery every 3 years, without referring to its possible technical state as a form of preventive maintenance.

Inevitably they seem to throw in the towel...

Re: Jimny - no Passenger sun visor Mirror
