Re: How old is your mobile fridge?

Bought it on 15 Dec in Heidelberg from Challenger. At about 8pm. What year, I can't remember.

They were having their xmas party and I begged and pleaded. Was a demo unit from a show they did. (My...

Re: Trickle charge via cigarette lighter plug?

If that charger is not going to draw more than 15A, why not.

If it is an intelligent charger, just make sure it cut out before your crank battery is to low.
  4. Re: Adventure Extreme bend axle and coupler replacement

Yes. Nothing wrong with either Alko or Birquip. Just take a higher rated axle than what was in there.

    Maybe the coupler as well.

Re: How stuffed am I? Tyre question

Ok. If all else fails you could do a DIY setup. Balance the centre of the rim on a pin. Now balance. Won't be perfect, but at least it won't kill your tyres.

Re: Land Cruiser 4.5 V8 diesel consumption

Take out the cat and do a proper downpipe. Yes a big exhaust is nice, but not really necessary.

Then get somebody to optimally map the ECU. No fancy performance tuning.

Re: Advice needed from the diesel gurus

Get a proper spec sheet and measure all. Else get the engineering works to do it for you.

If you can't measure it, you can't manage it.

Ford & Mazda Re: Stock Essex V6 upgrade advice/guidance

Personally I would just optimise that engine as much as I can.

These vehicles are starting to become collector desirable. The value is not there yet, but it is getting there.

Those guys also didn't use a feeler gauge to set the tappets. You chopped the heads off a set of old covers and set the tappets by ear.

    Those guys are no more.

Moet erken. Sal laaik van so 'n box. Met meer ratte. Dan hoef ek nie tot op die einde van die krag kurwe te druk nie. Iets soos 'n overdrive. Soos die trokke. Iets wat die ratkas sal verdubbel.

Re: How do I make Bananas last longer?

While the crank is out, just cross drill it. Increases the oil flow. They tend to starve at higher rpm.

Re: Correct coupler for a certain weight

The coupler is an item that needs proper atrention. Often not enough bolts. If you have to, weld on some eyes and add bolts. Then give them a 2nd nut to lock them down.

No I don't. Need samples to make moulds from. First I print 3d plugs, then I make moulds.

Pro Auto rubber has some. But I think they are all for the popular models. Probably Toyota.

On running it in, use a monograde.
    SAE40

Be very careful of getting the oil hot. There is minimal protection for the turbo.

Re: No Start with Quick Start

If you feed it quick start, it must at least fire.

If it doesn't, check the cam timing.

PS. On a diesel, rather use WD40, Q20 or the likes. Not as harsh.

As dit naby en op teer is, dan werk dit. Maar nerens moet die een strap trek teen die ander nie.

Sederdien het ek weg beweeg van daardie manier. Werk lekker, maar die straps verorber mekaar.
