    I would also first get the gearbox oil changed too.
    Not sure if it is one of those adaptive/learning boxes, maybe get it reset.

    Not sure if other cars are designed this way, but the VW Up has a great design for its phone cradle. The aircon has a vent that blows directly on the phone keeping it cool

    I was in the same boat, I bought a VW up for the work commute. Payments for VW Up is less then fuel consumption of FJ.

    The reason I said manual as some owners of CVT had problems with their CVT boxes, and we know that could cost $$$. Plus if you planning add a few more ponies the manual box will handle them better too
