Re: Another look at ADV - Adventurer Trailers

Just looking at the three profile pictures top right, I would be very sceptical of the towing stability of the 2nd and bottom arrangements, it just looks wrong.

Re: Elephants dying in huge numbers ?

OK, think Wikipedia gave some insight now. Cyanobacteria is blue-green algae, one and the same thing, and they played a major role in the original oxygenation of the planet, as they create oxygen...
  4. Re: Elon Musk - Tesla Battery Day - what to watch for

So the new cell is a 4680, massive 5.5 times bigger volume than 2170 present cell, and 8 times bigger than previous 1865 cell!
  5. Re: Elon Musk - Tesla Battery Day - what to watch for

The web is alive with speculation that they will announce relatively huge LiFePo cells (talks of 4070 and/or 5498 cells) which will reduce a typical car's cell count to below 1000. That will have a...

Re: Elephants dying in huge numbers ?

These drinking places did not have an inflow, it were seasonal pools of water. The dying stopped when the pools dried up. And the cyanobacteria itself is not the problem, only under ideal conditions...

I see Hyades / Chris gives his location as the airport on St. Helena Island. Will be interesting which of the suggested options are actually available at his presumed location.

    Re: Chassis bend?

Only a true gambler will know that expression (I had to google it :-) ). But yes, adding airbags to especially leaf sprung double cabs just worsten the situation by concentrating loads in the chassis.

    Re: Chassis bend?

That easily happens when towing heavy trailers offroad with the vehicle also loaded to the hilt. Weak point in just about every double cab on the market (even LC79's), and many people got that...

    Re: Defender 130 Overlander build

:-) Cruise control in a Landy is a brick on the fuel pedal, that does exactly what the real thing will do, keep the throttle fully open all the time :-)

Re: LC 105 4.5 EFi - Gearbox Leak

What Grips says is quite possible. Also, the 4,5 EFi gearbox should be the H150/H151 (small ratio differences), and the oil pump should have a relief valve. That may be stuck closed causing too high...

Straightening larger angle bends can initiate cracks, so is a no brainer from the start.
Straightening smaller angle bends leave a lot of residual stresses in the rod, and these stresses in balance...
