    Sticky: Re: GWM Problems!

I owned a 2010. Not bad comfort, however underpowered and heavy on fuel, 350km per tank. Didn't break too often. I traded it in on approx 28000km. Ex colleague owned a 2013, also underpowered, but...

If I remember correctly, my ex 2.2 mpi gwm was limited at 4250 rpm. Lazy and drank fuel like a champion. Around 7.5km per liter.

The aluminium "vastrap" on the floorboard is also not right for a restoration of this quality

Sounds like the plate is not sealing and boost is escaping. Ideally you need a gasket both sides of the blanking plate, but a liberal smear of gun gum both sides before assembly should work.

Caddy lighting circuit works with PWM, so is unfortunately not a straight positive. They can try to put a relay in line, using a known clean positive, with the relay coil fed from the reverse light....

Use two small ratchet straps fitted between the chassis members as a safety measure under the gearbox if you go the trolley jack route.

I'm busy with a replacement on my kb 300. All indications are between R6500 and R8500 just kit. Then factor in pilot bearing and labour, I think you are in for about R12k to R15k, depending where you...

  29. Re: Is my Chev utility really a 1.8 or is this a GM gimmick?

Check your rpm in top gear at 120. Then ask what is the cruising rpm from someone who has a 1400. The bigger engine will have lower rpm at 120.
