    Very strange indeed. If the fan is turning, either by the engine when engaged or by the wind, then it is almost impossible to shear off like that.
    I think the spacer caused the viscous to be off...

    Crank bearing will not whine. It will knock or cease.
    Try determine if the whine is "speeding up"with acceleration, that may indicate an external bearing. but a whistle can be caused by a cracked...

    Can one weld the center portion pins at the cross? Ashcroft has a substitute and I think it can be as strong if welded.

    Have a look at the decompression valve flaps(equalizer vents?) in the rear of the boot behind the trimmings. It might be twisted for some reason or not sealing properly. I have seen some not...

    The whole wire heats up therefor the fuse pops when the heat tries to pass through it. That is why you will see a whole wire's isolation burning off with a short in a system.

    I think this was the reason. Remember, a fuse melts, not blows, because of heat build-up. A loose terminal will create heat and a fuse should let go.

    It seems that the washers will catch onto the shock when flexing. A tapered washer would have prevented it.

    The problem is that on a hot day the bitumen melts and then the sheets drop into the door preventing the window to drop down fully and some bitumen even gets smeared against the pane...
