Re: Another Rhino poached in the Afsaal area.

This is most probably a turf war hit, which means a bigger, bader, meaner dude has just taken over.

    Re: Squeaky front coils

    I agree.
My Blazer started doing exactly the same after about a year (from new), but only for a very short while and only when cold. I have considered lubing the bushes, but don't want to create a...

Re: Double Cabs - How Capable is Capable??

I'd say the new Isuzu with RDL and TC that stays active on front wheels, will be the most effective in the very tough stuff.
The Triton with the Super Select setup is more "versatile" with the...
  7. Re: Isuzu kb 280 engine oil recommendations

If you stick to 50ppm diesel, then 7,500km should be fine. If you still have access to 500ppm, then I'd strongly recommend every 5,000km
  8. Re: Isuzu kb 280 engine oil recommendations

The MGX is CJ-4 spec and the Gold Ultra is CI-4.
The MGX is thus a "higher" spec. This will be mostly environmental considerations. It will be better suited for use with CATs and DPFs.
    For a good...

    Re: 2013 Trailblazer 2.8D

    That is a decent price.
A belt service on my 3.8V6 (petrol) Pajero was more than that 13 years ago.
Where did you get that quote?

    Re: New MuX aka Stormtrooper

I'm sure you'll be fine. I bought my new Isuzu in 2015 from the dealers with OME suspension.
  13. Re: Buying a 2019 MUX - service history concern

I can't think how many times I've had to go back after a service to have the book stamped. Dealers can be very lazy when it comes to stamping those little books.

Re: Driving an automatic. Any general advice?

I bet you those cars all disengaged the TC lock-up when the speed dropped and the load increased, before making the decision to select a lower gear.

Re: Driving an automatic. Any general advice?

    Mullerza,
Further to my previous post. Setting the cruise at a high-ish speed is most probably the best for an automatic as very little is required from it in terms of gear selection and torque...

Re: Driving an automatic. Any general advice?

I personally know of three guys that didn't change engine oil for years and years. It was in an Audi, a Chev Aveo and an Isuzu 2.8 Tdi respectively. Those cars kept on running, but very few guys will...

Re: Driving an automatic. Any general advice?

    OK SamM, I'll bite.
There is plenty info to be found on the web that explains how high tranny oil temp is bad for the oil, and thus bad for the gearbox.
If you really want to see temps climb to...

    Re: Prado 3.0 D4D vs 4.0 V6

The reality is that Toyota chose to not give the petrol Prado a different gearing ratio to the diesel.
This effectively leaves the V6 Prado with 3 "workable" gears and 2 "overdrives". That beautiful...

    Re: Oil Catch Can

The purpose of the catch can is to minimise oil vapour finding its way from the sump air space back into the intake. Once in the intake, the oil vapour can (and will) add to the carbon build-up.
