Re: Latest Covid travel restriction from MOH

I negotiated K600 return with Patrick. No need to walk over the bridge, but he will probably try to argue like that. Tell him you know that taxidrivers do not pay the bridge fee for drop off/pick...

Fuel pump change in H5 , 2,4l petrol

Is it necessary to disassembly the fuel tank to change the faulty fuel pump inside the tank? I did not find any "window" under the rear seats. Anybody has got the manual for this job?

I would rather hire fixer for 10$ if you are not sure you have all your necessary documents. Many people reported they did not need police clearance certificate, others (as we with rental vehicles)...

It is nice hearing you had a nice trip. We were the only fellow campers who camp together with you in Ngonye River and Nyoka Chalets.

Somebody at DriveZam told me he/she made PCR test in Lewanika Hospital in Mongu for only K500 and had the results emailed. Worth checking the history out there.

Epupa falls will be dry in November, but it is still nice part of Namibia. I would drive from Etosha Galton Gate to Ruacana and then take the scenic D3700 along Kunene River. I would swap Namutoni...

Namibia is certainly excellent. Even Etosha has also something special to deliver. There are night-litted waterholes and good pool in Halali. Hopefully the All-You-Can Eat buffet in Okaukuejo will be...

Pontoon works from 6 a.m., you can be at HQ at 7 a.m. Still do not understand the logic of arriving late, departing soon.

I do not want to argue whoes logic is the better. Arriving to Liuwa at the evening and leaving at the morning you did exactly what you hate. You lost half day here and half day there. If you spend...

I would not leave Etosha as the last NP if you plan Moremi, Chobe and Caprivi strip NPs first. You would be disappointed to leave the worst for the last. Rather rewrite your itinerary and begin with...

    Re: Roundtrip Zambia

  18. Re: 24 days overlanding in Botswana for the first time!

It is true. We do not have the time for lunch and afternoon coffee. But we have proper braai every evening using our headlights. Why beans and powder eggs if the game meat is so cheap in Botswana???
  19. Re: 24 days overlanding in Botswana for the first time!

I wonder how you, Saffers, not get bored being 4-5 days at the same spot and to see the same scenery/resident animals every day. It seems you do not want to wear and tear your precious vehicles. My...

  21. Re: Best route Kubu- Boteti river campsite and help on itinerary Moremi and Chobe

My favourite campsites on your route are: KRS, Old Bridge, Dijara, Muchenje, Thebe River. I am not a big fan of Chobe Safari and Senyati.
  22. Re: Best route Kubu- Boteti river campsite and help on itinerary Moremi and Chobe

It realy depends on your camping setup and the pace you are used to travel. If you have rooftop tent you have to pack-up every morning so spending every night at different place is not a big issue....

  31. Re: Victoria Falls from Kasane, better by Zambia or by Zimbabwe?

Re: Latest Covid travel restriction from MOH

Yes. But for a day trip to Zambia it doesnot make sense to undergo the expensive car crossborder clearance. Rather have taxi from Kasane to Zam side of the bridge (do not pay more than P40) and...

  35. Re: Victoria Falls from Kasane, better by Zambia or by Zimbabwe?

Zimbabwe is easy in Pandamantenga and Matsiloje, but still probably closed. Other border posts (Kazungula, Zam/Zim bridge, Plumtree, Beitbridge) you have to pay CVG (about 70-100$) for rental vehicle.
