    Wow, that's scary. For the benefit of others who may want to check, here's the actual SANS 1505 requirement for towballs and couplers. These are 3 separate parts to the code, hence the same numbering.

    It has an internal battery which needs replacing. My 296 does the same.
    If you switch it off (after having received a signal) and on again it will show the correct date etc but not store it for long.

    Agreed. Perhaps I worded it badly but my intentions were that the higher the voltage, the lower the resultant current. The lower the current, the lower the resistance losses in the conductors.
