    Re: Altenative to RTT

I had a similar set-up on my Defender 130, but used caravan extrusion / rope rail extrusion to attach the tent to canopy, which I think might be easier than faffing with straps.

    Unfortunately I...

  5. Re: Are the EB license requirements killing the camping industry?

I know of at least one caravan manufacturer that has developed an on-road caravan specifically for code B license holders.

    Re: Cover-Worx seat covers.

I very recently fitted a set of Cover-Worx covers to my VW Kombi. I previously had Escape Gear cover in my Defender, and would have preferred them again, but at roughly R4,000 more expensive, I...

Alloys, but I'll swop them for steel rims at some point.

I'm happy with the ride, but remember i'm coming from a Defender 130 with heavy duty OME springs. I've only done a little gravel road...
  9. Re: VW Caravelle 4 Motion T4, 3,2 V6 Manual....Yay or Nay?

I have 235/70/16s on my T5. It has Van Zylís springs which give it a little lift. How much higher than standard Iím not sure, but compared to a normal bus it stands quite high. Itís a few mm under...
  10. Re: Advice on buying 2016 Hilux 2.4 GD - 3 x options - different mileage/cost

HenriS on here will inspect the vehicles for you for a very reasonable fee. Assuming they are close enough for him to do so, it will be money well spent for the peace of mind.

    Re: Bushpower gets my vote

Another vote for Jacque from me. [emoji106]

His prices are also VERY competitive - replaced 3 batteries (2 deep cycle and 1 cranking) a while ago for significantly less than what I could get them...

Discovery 2: Re: Td5 Oil pump life span?

Mine was checked at around 210,000kms and the oil pressure was slightly down. Replaced it with a new one as a precaution.

Re: Is a new Duster a good buy?

Re: 300TDi Spares for Overland Trip

You can "Heath Robinson" a repair on just about anything, but without wheel bearings your Land Rover is a sled (a very heavy one that won't slide much). I try to carry spares just in case.

    Bush...
  20. Re: 300 TDI Kalahari Model - Insurance cannot find on List of Models

I doubt they were ever connected.

An aftermarket immobiliser should suffice for insurance purposes as long as it is VESA approved.
  21. Re: 300 TDI Kalahari Model - Insurance cannot find on List of Models

Cross Country should be able to assist, you need to speak to Cal. Santam will also assist if you can provide them with 2 written valuations, and although I canít speak for Tuffstuff Iíd also...

Defender Re: What have you done with your Defender today?

I have a range of 1,000km in my 130 when both tanks are full (120l) which translates to a little over 8km/l. This hardly varies, whether travelling long distance or in town.

    I must add that it...
