    Re: Treg Owners

Don't know, but suspect that should be as simple as a contact in there. Probably dirty, maybe worn out. Open and have a look.

    Re: Treg Owners

Got the quote form Ravenol for the MDL Multi-Disc locking differentials oil = R 340.88 per liter excl. VAT. Still cheaper than from the agents, but unicorn blood nonetheless.

    Re: Treg Owners

So I'm pretty certain now that the incorrect diff oil is to blame for the binding as previously described. It seems that indeed the Treg's with rear diff-lock take a different oil to the regular rear...

Re: BEWARE! Robbery at iHaha Camp Site 27/06/19

So I have to ask. Is this type of thing just becoming more and more common and widespread or just perception. Factors I can think of:

Re: Treg soft sand set up

I always battle with that decision, as the only time I've ruined a tyre was when I deflated and driving on rocks.- sidewall cut. Think it's more prone deflated to cuts, but traction improves.

Re: Advice please for newbie 4x4er

Iím biased, but consider a 2009 or 2010 V6 TDI Touareg. Nice ones to be had in that price range. Can be pricy to maintain, especially if neglected, but a very solid vehicle, very capable and safe....

    Re: Gonarezhou via Pafuri

Nice info, sounds exciting. What would the cost and feasibility be of crossing over the Pafuri border to see the fever tree forest that side, purely as a day visitor? Would it be doable?

Re: Touareg wont start - It's Alive!

How did you clean the rest of the system, apart from the replaced parts? Re that pump, difficult to say. It could be good, as itís post the fuel filter and pre the HPFP, so theoretically no shavings...

    Re: Treg Owners

Iím glad you brought this up again. At the moment my rear diff lock is still deactivated via the fuse.

Iím starting to strongly believe that those Treg rear differentials with lockers require a...

    Re: Discovery 4 in Mabuasehube

Nice video! What is your toolkit? It's a bit more than an iPhone as I see some good telephoto shots there that don't seem to be of a digital zoom nature. What do you edit in?

    Re: Treg Owners

Probably from a scrap yard. I'm pretty sure Goldwagen is sourcing that from the VWSA anyway, so no point in trying the dealerships.

Should this not be an insurance claim though?

    Re: Treg Owners

Cannot comment on the part numbers, but seeing that you did a visual and audio inspection, I don't think you have anything to worry about in the immediate future.

Re: BEWARE! Robbery at iHaha Camp Site 27/06/19

Obviously the same filth over and over again. I would assume they use a vessel of sort to cross the Chobe. Hope they are caught soon and fed to the hyenas. Such a pity!

    Massive Rock Python

Friends of mine found this huge Rock Python on their farm in the Tzaneen area.

    What a magnificent creature.

It was released unharmed on another part of the farm.

Re: Touareg drive shaft centre bearing

Tim still does them, but not with his own manufactured bearing, as there are aftermarket options that are better than his was. Should cost you no more than 3k.

    CKGR August 2020 Trip

Planning a trip to CKGR in August 2020. What would be the best camps to visit at this time of year, i.e. where the animals congregate?

    Re: Trailer Cuff feedback

Great feedback, thank you. As itís soo strong, that then raises the question around the trailer not being able to detach in a roll-over. Is that an issue or not?

    Re: Trailer Cuff feedback

    Considering buying a trailer cuff.

    1. Is it not easy for a thief to simply undo the allen key nut/bolt on the one side?
    2. Is that same allen key nut/bolt not way too...

    Re: Treg Owners

One would just have to practice a bit of self control and logic. It's all nanny systems. Lot's of lifted vehicles driving around that are mega powerful/fast.
