    Re: Broken down - Plett

Garyís Spares in town, will source anything for you.
Or try Autec in the Industrial area... they could help.

  2. Re: R339: Knysna -> Uniondale: Is this a usable road?

Awesome road, we drive it and cycle it often!

    Definitely worth driving, super scenic!

Itís not in great condition though, it can get rough in certain places.
  3. Re: New 3.0v6 vs HighlinePlus 2.0... which one...

Maybe the new 8 speeds are less picky than the older DSGís? Or, my mapping was done really crappy. [emoji23]
  4. Re: New 3.0v6 vs HighlinePlus 2.0... which one...

Jason do they map the gearbox software as well?

My biggest regret was mapping my A3 2.0T so it produced awesome power and torque, but left the DSG box untouched. It never drove like it should have...

I'm pretty sure there is a setting in VCDS for this? I remember fiddling with it on the Q5.

Will take a look when I'm home.

Re: VW Amarok V6 - What tyres

    Thanks Clubbie.
I'm sure they would be better than the standard Continentals that come with it?
Also wanting to go 265/65 18 which I think will work nicely.

Re: VW Amarok V6 - What tyres

I was about to go and put the Pirelli's on my 2.0 4m Amarok.
Maybe I'll reconsider them after that comment. Although, yours has a few more ponies under the bonnet to let loose.

  14. Re: New Amarok or Extending Warranty and Maintenance Plan

You live once... Can you afford to do it? Will you be taking food off the table? No?

    V6 for the win.

Didn't try that, only put the handbrake down.
I did look through Marius' Stickies, but couldn't find anything regarding the drum assembly. I'll look harder now, but what you're saying makes sense....

Re: Amarok front brake pad usage

    Hi Guys,

It's my time for new brakes at 54k km, which judging by this thread is actually good going for the Auto.

Anyone had any use of the ATE brake pads for the Rok? Quite a big difference in...

    Re: 2014 Auto Drivetrain Jolt

Yes! Was meaning to reply to this earlier..

My changing into 4th from 3rd under moderate acceleration had a stiff jolt.

This reset changed that... Much smoother now.
  25. Re: Amarok overheat-R100 000 damage. Dealership liable?

Herman I'm really sorry you have to go through this... Especially this time of year!

What actually went wrong though? What caused the Rok to overheat? I thought it had the protection in place to...

I'm at 52k km now, so I reckon the 75k mark is a good one. Rather be safe than sorry?

Did you change both the fan belt as well as the timing belt?

Re: Inspecting 2nd hand Amarok what to look for

On 46k km? I know it's for precaution, but that's soon don't you think?

My 2015 auto Rok is on 46k km, and it's basically still brand new judging by the way she drives and looks inside.
