Poll: Re: What is better TC off or TC on?

    Definitely TC on.

In basic testing, TC allows your vehicle to maintain a lot more grip, and to manage it well when it does lose grip.
Turning TC off resulted in a lot more tail-end sliding on the...

I bought from Stompies, they are in Equestria.

Cost me R1300 for 1000 pieces of Blackwattle and Bluegum.

Re: Saftey route Nelspruit MQP to Kruger NP

There are NO issues going up to Hoedspruit from Nelspruit, it was merely a warning. The road is clear all the way.
  7. Re: Orrie Baragwanath Pass / Lekgalameetse conditions

I think someone on the forum did it this year.

The road surface is very very poor. Magoebaskloof would be a safer option.
  9. Re: 4x4 Diesel DCab for under R400k.... what options do we have?

    Did you consider a Ranger 2.2 ?

I picked up a 2018 Ranger 2.2 XLS 4x4 AT with minimal km, for R379k just over a year ago.

The prices have gone up a lot though - I can't find the same deal I got...

Re: Driving an automatic: Any general advice?

    My 4x4 Ranger is automatic.

    1. Drive it rustig. Otherwise it sucks juice.
    2. Same as above. The gearbox is clever enough to know what to do. Don't force the gears to shift though.

  18. Re: Fuel consumption, speedo reading low vs high profile tyers?

By upsizing your tyres you will have two effects.
    1) The rolling distance, or circumference, is now bigger, so the speed will be more accurate, since the speedometer reading will decrease.

The biggest risk is the bladder being punctured by something. Having water or fuel leak all over your equipment/vehicle can be a rather crappy situation.

Re: Advice - Transporting water in tanks or not

I took somewhere between 60 and 80 liters of water along in 25l containers to the Kgalagadi.

Vehicle depending it won't make much of a difference.
The bakkie was loaded to about 500kg I'd guess.

    It's a darn beautiful road.
